The Turks and Caicos Weekly News, also known as the TC Weekly News, is a weekly newspaper serving the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was first published by editor and publisher W Blythe Duncanson in July 1982. History Turks and Caicos-born Duncanson had previously worked for Bahamian publications the Nassau Tribune and the Bahamian Review Magazine before returning to the T&C Islands in 1981. Arriving back, he saw the need for a magazine that would promote the unspoilt beauty of the Islands. ''The Weekly News'' was a British national newspaper founded in 1855 and published every Wednesday by the Dundee newspaper chain DC Thomson. Billed as "the paper with the feelgood factor," it contained news and features on a broad range of subjects in six colour-coded sections: That's Real Life, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Puzzles, Short Stories and Sport. The first ''Weekly News'' came out on 12 May 1855, and was a national miscellany news-sheet, primarily for working people or "artisans". It owes its origins, however, to an offshoot of the Dundee-based ''Northern Warder'' newspaper just over a year earlier. During the Crimean War, which resulted in the defeat of Russia by British, French and Turkish troops, a Saturday issue of ''The Warder'' began to be issued in April 1854 to carry war news. The ''North Wales Weekly News'' is one of a group of newspapers published weekly in Llandudno. History The newspaper was first published on 14 February 1889 by local printer Robert Evans Jones as the ''Weekly News and Visitors’ Chronicle for Colwyn Bay, Colwyn, Llandrillo, Conway, Deganway and Neighbourhood'', a four-page broadsheet which cost 1d. Jones' brother William built a new printworks in 1900 on Conwy Quay, where the ''Weekly News'' continued to be published until May 1972 when it moved to new purpose-built premises in Llandudno Junction; shortly afterwards it abandoned hot metal typesetting in favour of computerised printing; later technological developments allowed copy to be transmitted to the printworks from branch offices elsewhere in North Wales. The ''Wellington Weekly News'' is a weekly newspaper in Wellington, Somerset, England. It was founded as ''Corner's Wellington Weekly News'' on 15 November 1860, the same day as the ''Wellington Times'', two of 15 newspapers founded that year in Wellington.
