Web In Front
Web in Front is a song by American indie rock band Archers of Loaf, originally released as a 7" single on Alias Records in 1993. It was their first release on the Alias label, and their first single from their debut album ''Icky Mettle''. The original single also included the tracks "Bathroom" and "Tatayana". Impact "Web in Front" launched ''Icky Mettle'' to high-ranking positions on the college charts, including #18 on the CMJ New Music Report Top 150. The single was played regularly on both college radio and MTV, and its music video was featured in an episode of Beavis & Butthead. Critical reception When "Web in Front" was originally released, music critics often compared it to Pavement and Superchunk. Archers Of Loaf
Archers of Loaf is an American indie rock band originally formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in 1991. The group toured extensively and released four studio albums, one compilation, numerous singles and EPs, and a live album which was released after the band broke up in 1998. In 2011 the band began a reunion tour that coincided with the reissue of four of its albums by Merge Records. In July 2022, the band announced the release of their first album in nearly twenty-five years, ''Reason in Decline'', released also via Merge Records in October of the same year. ''Seconds Before The Accident'' is a live album by the alternative rock band Archers of Loaf released in 2000. It was the band's last release until ''Curse of the Loaf'', another live album released in 2015. Album History ''Seconds Before The Accident'' was recorded in November 1998 at the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In the liner notes it says, "...songs selected by band based on listenability." The album was recorded during the band's final tour which supported their last studio album ''White Trash Heroes'', but was not released until two years later in 2000. It is not known if all the songs are from the same show, or in the original order played at the actual show, because the show date is not stated. Superchunk is an American indie rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States, consisting of singer-guitarist Mac McCaughan, guitarist Jim Wilbur, bassist Laura Ballance, and drummer Jon Wurster. ''Icky Mettle'' is the first studio album recorded by the indie rock band Archers of Loaf. It was produced and engineered by Caleb Southern at Kraptone Studios in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and released by Alias Records on September 7, 1993. A deluxe reissue of the album was released by Merge Records in 2011. The album was recorded and mixed in seven days. According to Eric Bachmann, "We spent like $5,000 to make it."
