Weakened Friends is an American indie rock band formed in Portland, Maine, signed to Big Scary Monsters and best known for their 2018 song "Blue Again", from their debut full-length album ''Common Blah''. The band consists of Sonia Sturino (vocals, guitar), Annie Hoffman (bass, vocals), and Adam Hand (drums). In 2021, the band announced their second full-length album, ''Quitter'', released on November 19. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Big Scary Monsters Recording Company (often known simply as Big Scary Monsters or BSM Records) is an independent record label based in Oxford, England, UK. The LP (from "long playing" or "long play") is an analog sound storage medium, a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk. History Don Giovanni Records was founded by Joe Steinhardt and Zach Gajewski while they were living in Boston in 2004.
