We Want It All
''We Want It All'' is one of only two songs the Rage Against the Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha released while the band was disbanded. Out of the twenty or so tracks which De La Rocha and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails collaborated on, this is the only track of those sessions which has been released. Produced by Reznor and recorded at Nothing Studio in New Orleans in 2003, "We Want It All" appears on the 2004 compilation album '' Songs and Artists that Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11''. Critical reception CraveOnline stated: "The vocal track was true to Zack’s lyrical form, while the instrumentation had the drum-and-bass feel of Nine Inch Nails’ 'The Perfect Drug'." Zacharias Manuel de la Rocha (born January 12, 1970) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, rapper, and political activist. He is best known as the vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Rage Against the Machine. Through both Rage Against the Machine and his activism, de la Rocha promotes left-wing politics in opposition to corporate America, the military-industrial complex and government oppression. The Perfect Drug
"The Perfect Drug" is a song by Nine Inch Nails written for the David Lynch film '' Lost Highway''. It was released in 1997 on the ''Lost Highway'' soundtrack as well as a single from the score. Remixes of the song were released as an EP, ''"The Perfect Drug" Versions''. Though ''"The Perfect Drug" Versions'' acts as a single for the titular song, the original version does not appear on the EP. The track has also been included on international singles " We're in This Together, Part 3" and " Into the Void" without the ending truncated; the only audio release of it in North America being on the ''Lost Highway'' soundtrack. A music video for it was directed by Mark Romanek, included with '' Closure'', a VHS compilation and '' The Work of Director Mark Romanek''. Drum and bass (also written as drum & bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. Nothing Records was an American record label specializing in industrial rock and electronic music, founded by John Malm Jr. and Trent Reznor in 1992. It is considered an example of a vanity label, where an artist is able to run a label with some small degree of independence within a larger parent company, in this case the larger company being Interscope Records. Nothing Records went largely defunct in 2004, after a lawsuit by Reznor against John Malm. The label became inactive as a whole following several further releases; 2007's ''Beside You in Time'' music video was the label's final release. Rage Against the Machine (often abbreviated as RATM or shortened to simply Rage) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California.
