We Are The Apocalypse
''We Are the Apocalypse'' is the seventh studio album by Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral. The album was released through Century Media Records on 18 March 2022. The album is the first to feature the band's new drummer, Jalomaah, and bass player, Adra-Melek. The album was recorded in Studio 33 and was engineered by Fredrik Thordendal and Daniel Bergstrand. It peaked at No. 6, No. 13, and No. 28 in the German, Finnish, and Swiss albums charts respectively. Music videos The first music video from the album, for the song "Let the Devil In", was released on 7 January 2022. It was created by Polish production company Grupa 13. Dark Funeral
Dark Funeral is a Swedish black metal band from Stockholm, founded by guitarists Blackmoon and Lord Ahriman in 1993. They emerged during the second wave of black metal. Their lyrical themes have traditionally pertained to Satanism and anti-Christianity. Certain past and present members including Blackmoon, Ahriman, Caligula, and Chaq Mol have each declared an affinity for Satanism, with Ahriman and Caligula notably being practitioners of LaVeyan Satanism. In their earlier years, their lyrical themes usually revolved specifically around depictions of Hell and Satan. After Emperor Magus Caligula joined the band, their lyrics came to focus more on blasphemy and anti-Christian rhetoric, although there have been several exceptions to this. Daniel Bergstrand is a Swedish record producer, most notable for his work with bands such as In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork, Dimmu Borgir, and Behemoth. He is the owner of the Dugout Productions studio, which is based in Uppsala, Sweden. His work with In Flames was awarded with Grammi Awards on the albums ''Come Clarity'' and '' Soundtrack to Your Escape''. Mikael Svanberg (born 13 November 1972), better known as Lord Ahriman, is a Swedish musician and composer best known as the primary guitarist, songwriter and sole founding member of black metal band Dark Funeral. He is also the rhythm guitarist in the band Wolfen Society. His name is derived from ''Ahriman'' ( fa, اهریمن), the evil equivalent of the deity Angra Mainyu in Zoroastrianism. Biography Originally from Luleå a small town in the north of Sweden, Ahriman developed an interest in music from a very young age. Fredrik Thordendal (born 11 February 1970) is a Swedish musician, best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the extreme metal band Meshuggah, of which he is a founding member. Along with Meshuggah's rhythm guitarist Mårten Hagström, Thordendal was rated No. 35 by ''Guitar World'' in the top 100 greatest heavy metal guitarists of all-time.
