We Are England (2022 TV Programme)
''We Are England'' is a regional current affairs documentary programme shown on BBC One. The programme is made by six teams around England, based in Birmingham, London, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle and Norwich. The programme airs six original half-hour documentaries each week, with each week themed around a different topic; the first theme was ''Mental Health''. The programme replaced regional current affairs show ''Inside Out''. A notable change was that each ''We Are England'' episode is a single half hour documentary, whereas ''Inside Out'' normally aired a collection of short-form pieces in its 30 minute slot. Another change is a cutback in the number of teams, from 11 regional hubs to six. Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. ''BBC Scotland Investigates'' is a current affairs programme broadcast in Scotland by BBC Scotland. It is broadcast regularly on BBC One Scotland on weekday nights, currently with varying timeslots. Previously known as ''Frontline Scotland'', the programme usually features current issues affecting the Scottish people. Most recent examples include gang warfare in Glasgow, problems with the NHS, the likely effects of increased gambling in Scottish cities and North Sea oil. BBC Scotland Investigates' reporters include Samantha Poling and Ross McWilliam. In most cases, the entire programme is devoted to one topic, and consists entirely of an in-depth documentary piece from a single reporter (similar to the BBC's ''Panorama'' programme).
