''Wayside'' (also known as ''Wayside School'') is a Canadian animated sitcom developed by John Derevlany and produced by Nelvana Limited. The series follows Todd, a transfer student who attends Wayside, an offbeat 30-story grammar school. It is loosely based on the ''Wayside School'' books by Louis Sachar, and several elements differ between the two works. Derevlany conceived ''Wayside'' in 2003, leading to an hour-long television special pilot titled '' Wayside: The Movie'' that aired in 2005. Teletoon greenlit two seasons of ''Wayside'' consisting of thirteen half-hour episodes each, and they aired from 2007 to 2008; the series also aired briefly on Nickelodeon in the U.S. during this time. Wayside is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the community and nearby areas was 19. It is located along U.S. Route 75 northeast of Caney and southwest of Independence. History A post office was opened in Wayside in 1887, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1984. Wayside is west of the original location of the Little House on the Prairie, the Kansas home of Laura Ingalls Wilder; a reconstruction of the house, along with a museum and relocated period buildings, are located at the site. Wayside is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Mississippi, United States. The settlement has a post office and water tower. Wayside is located on Mississippi Highway 1 approximately south of Greenville. History The Belmont Plantation was located in Wayside. The plantation home was completed in 1859, and has been described as "one of the few antebellum homes in the region not burned by rampaging Union soldiers". The extant home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Wayside was originally located directly on the Mississippi River at the eastern end of "American Bend", and the early settlement had a steamboat landing. The river changed course following a flood in 1858, cutting off the bend and creating an oxbow lake now called Lake Lee. Wayside is an unincorporated community located along the border of Tinton Falls Borough and Ocean Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The community is largely residential though some churches, parks, and schools are located in the area. The main arterial roads in the community are Hope Road (through which the Tinton Falls–Ocean Township municipal line runs), Wayside Road ( County Route 38 in Tinton Falls), and West Park Avenue. The Wayside
The Wayside is a historic house in Concord, Massachusetts. The earliest part of the home may date to 1717. Later it successively became the home of the young Louisa May Alcott and her family, who named it Hillside, author Nathaniel Hawthorne and his family, and children's writer Margaret Sidney. It became the first site with literary associations acquired by the National Park Service and is now open to the public as part of Minute Man National Historical Park. Early history The first record of the Wayside property occurs in 1717. Minuteman Samuel Whitney was living in this house, which still retained most of its original appearance, on April 19, 1775, when British troops passed by on their way to the Battles of Lexington and Concord at Concord's Old North Bridge.
