Wayne Wade
Wayne Wade (born 19 March 1959) is a Jamaican singer, songwriter and musician. Biography Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Wade attended Excelsior High School from 1972 to 1976. His career began in the mid-1970s, working with Yabby You, 1976's "Black Is Our Colour" immediately achieving success in Jamaica. His debut album, ''Black Is Our Colour'' was released in 1976, and was followed by further hits with cover versions of The Paragons' "Happy Go Lucky Girl" and "On The Beach". This was followed by further albums ''Evil Woman'' (1978), ''Dancing Time'', and ''Fire Fire'' (both 1979), before Wade moved on to work with Dillinger (musician), Dillinger, recording "Five Man Army" together with Dillinger, The Tamlins, Al Campbell, and Trinity (musician), Trinity. He recorded for Joe Gibbs (record producer), Joe Gibbs, hitting the United Kingdom, UK reggae chart in 1980 with "After You" and "Natty Contractor". Kingston, Jamaica
Kingston is the capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. It faces a natural harbour protected by the Palisadoes, a long sand spit which connects the town of Port Royal and the Norman Manley International Airport to the rest of the island. Orville Richard Burrell CD (born October 22, 1968), better known by his stage name Shaggy, is a Jamaican-American reggae rapper, singer, and songwriter who scored hits with the songs "It Wasn't Me", " Boombastic", "In The Summertime", "Oh Carolina", and "Angel". He has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best Reggae Album with ''Boombastic'' in 1996 and ''44/876'' with Sting in 2019, and has won the Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002. In 2007, he was awarded the Jamaican Order of Distinction with the rank of Commander. In 2022, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University. Third World (band)
Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. Although it has undergone several line-up changes, Stephen "Cat" Coore and Richard Daley have been constant members. History Third World started when keyboard player Michael "Ibo" Cooper and guitarist (and cellist) Stephen "Cat" Coore (son of former Deputy Prime Minister David Coore), who had originally played in The Alley Cats and then Inner Circle, subsequently left to form their own band along with Inner Circle singer Milton "Prilly" Hamilton. They recruited bassist Richard Daley, formerly of Ken Boothe's band and Tomorrow's Children, and added drummer Carl Barovier and former Inner Circle percussionist Irvin "Carrot" Jarrett before making their live debut in early 1974.
