Wayne Rittmuller
Wayne Neville Rittmuller (born 18 June 1982) is a South African international lawn bowler and three times national champion of South Africa. He has represented South Africa at the Commonwealth Games. Biography Rittmuller started playing bowls aged 12 and played for Wentworth Bowling Club from 2001 to 2005. He won the South African national singles title two years in succession in 2017 and 2018 at the South African National Bowls Championships, when bowling for Stella Park (Port Natal). In 2022, he won his third title but this time in the pairs with Jason Lott for the Hillary BC. Bowls
Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". It is played on a bowling green, which may be flat (for "flat-green bowls") or convex or uneven (for "crown green bowls"). It is normally played outdoors (although there are many indoor venues) and the outdoor surface is either natural grass, artificial turf or cotula (in New Zealand). History Bowls is a variant of the ''boules'' games (Italian ''Bocce''), which, in their general form, are of ancient or prehistoric origin. The South African National Bowls Championships is organised by Bowls South Africa (BSA). 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. The Games marked England's third time hosting the Commonwealth Games after London 1934 and Manchester 2002, and the 7th Games held in the United Kingdom, with previous events in Wales and Scotland: Cardiff 1958, Edinburgh 1970 and 1986 and Glasgow 2014. The Games was the largest ever held, with 72 participating nations and over 1.3 million ticket sales.
