Wayne Hoffman (author)
Wayne Hoffman is an American author and journalist. Hoffman has contributed to ''The Village Voice'', ''The Huffington Post'', ''The Washington Post'', '' The Advocate'', ''Hadassah Magazine'', and '' The New York Blade''. He was managing editor at '' Billboard'' until 2003, and later held the same post at ''The Jewish Daily Forward''. he is deputy editor at Nextbook Press, a New York-based Jewish small press, in which capacity he also serves as managing editor for ''Tablet Magazine''. Hoffman is a graduate of Tufts University and New York University. He is married to fellow journalist Mark Sullivan. ''The Forward'' ( yi, פֿאָרווערטס, Forverts), formerly known as ''The Jewish Daily Forward'', is an American news media organization for a Jewish American audience. Founded in 1897 as a Yiddish-language daily socialist newspaper, ''The New York Times'' reported that Seth Lipsky "started an English-language offshoot of the Yiddish-language newspaper" as a weekly newspaper in 1990. In the 21st century ''The Forward'' is a digital publication with online reporting. In 2016, the publication of the Yiddish version changed its print format from a biweekly newspaper to a monthly magazine; the English weekly paper followed suit in 2017.
