Wawffactor
''Wawffactor'' (sometimes styled as ''WawFfactor'', English: ''Wow Factor'') is a Welsh television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. It was broadcast on S4C between 2003 and 2006 and was produced by Al Fresco. It has now gained fame for contestant Duffy, now a major worldwide artist, who competed in the first series of the show, finishing second behind Lisa Pedrick. Format Contestants initially performed in front of a panel of four judges at one of several auditions held around the country. From these, ten people were chosen to progress to the studio heats where after performing each week, one contestant would be eliminated by decision of the judges until three remained. Then during the live final, one contestant would be eliminated by the judges after performing, and a public televote decided the winner. The prize was to record an album and music video. Duffy (singer)
Aimee Anne Duffy (born 23 June 1984) is a Welsh singer, songwriter and actress. Her music style has been described as a mixture of soul, blue-eyed soul, pop rock, neo soul and pop music. Duffy released her debut album, '' Rockferry'', in 2008. It topped the charts in several music markets, and led to worldwide attention. It was preceded by the lead single "Mercy", which reached number one in several countries and the top ten in twelve others. Einir Dafydd
Einir Dafydd is a Welsh singer who won the third series of the television talent show Wawffactor and the 2007 Cân i Gymru (''A Song for Wales'') competition. Dafydd started her career as the lead singer in the band Garej Dolwen, but first came to prominence after winning the Wawffactor competition televised on S4C in March 2006. This provided the opportunity for exposure on other S4C television shows, such as Wedi 7 and Noson Lawen, as well as the chance to record a CD. Her debut EP, titled Y Garreg Las (''The Blue Rock'') was launched in June 2006 at Theatr y Gromlech, Crymych, and featured three songs and a music video. Aimee-Ffion Edwards (born 21 November 1987) is a Welsh actress and singer. She is known for playing Sketch in '' Skins'', Esme Shelby in ''Peaky Blinders'', Sophie in ''Detectorists'' and Abi in '' Loaded''. Aled Haydn Jones
Aled Haydn Jones (born 9 August 1976) is a Welsh radio executive, former presenter and former radio producer. In June 2020 he was appointed head of BBC Radio 1, succeeding Ben Cooper. From 2004 until 2012 he worked on ''The Chris Moyles Show''. He was a presenter on ''The Surgery'' on BBC Radio 1 between 2009 until 2015. Bethan Elfyn () is a Welsh radio and television presenter. Elfyn was born in Bangor, Gwynedd, was brought up in Newtown, Powys, and now lives in Cardiff with her husband, Clwb Ifor Bach Promoter and Works Manager Richard Hawkins. They had a daughter, Tegan, in February 2012, and a second daughter in December 2016. S4C (, ''Sianel Pedwar Cymru'', meaning ''Channel Four Wales'') is a Welsh language free-to-air Public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast television channel.
