Watsky
George Virden Watsky (born September 15, 1986), better known mononymously as Watsky, is an American rapper, singer, musician, songwriter, record producer, poet, author, and illustrator. Watsky broke out as a rapper with his viral video "Pale kid raps fast" in 2011, which featured his trademark chopping style. He has released six studio albums: ''Watsky'' (2009), ''Cardboard Castles'' (2013), ''All You Can Do'' (2014), ''x Infinity'' (2016), ''Complaint'' (2019), and ''Placement'' (2020). He performs live shows with a backing band called Créme Fraîche. He is also known for his appearances in episodes of ''Epic Rap Battles of History'', and as an author following the publication of ''How to Ruin Everything'' in 2016. On May 7, 2020, Watsky set the Guinness World Record for longest rapping marathon, rapping for 33 hours 33 minutes and 19 seconds. ''x Infinity'', (pronounced ''Times Infinity'') is the fourth studio album by American rapping, rapper, spoken word artist and author George Watsky, released on August 19, 2016. The album was recorded at Seahorse Studios in Los Angeles, Grand St. Recording in Brooklyn, and Aqua Vibea in Hadley, Massachusetts. The album, executive produced by Russell Simmons – who Watsky previously connected with as a guest on Season 6 of Simmons' HBO series ''Def Poetry Jam, Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry'' – was produced by Kush Mody and features additional production from Anderson Paak, Anderson .Paak and drumming by Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots, among other collaborations. Cardboard Castles
''Cardboard Castles'' is the second studio album by American spoken word artist and rapper Watsky. The album was released on March 12, 2013. Unlike his debut album, entitled Watsky (album), ''Watsky'', there is a deluxe edition. The deluxe edition includes one extra song, and the CD case folds into a miniature "cardboard castle." Watsky also embarked on an American tour to promote the album (some dates in Canada and the UK were also included). The album is also available on vinyl at request of his fans. On March 5, one week before ''Cardboard Castles'' was released, Watsky leaked the album on Rap Genius. This included the announcement of the deluxe edition bonus track, entitled Dent In The Moon. Along with the leak, Rap Genius held a contest for the 'scholar' who explained the most lyrics on the album. The prize was two tickets to Watsky's concert at Irving Plaza in New York City. All You Can Do
''All You Can Do'' is the third studio album by American spoken word artist and rapper Watsky. The 16-track album was released on August 12, 2014. Watsky said in a YouTube video that he wanted the album to be a tribute to his parents, and that because of this, the album cover would be a photo of his father, poet Paul Watsky, and his cat, Saruman. He also explained that he would like his mother to be on an alternate cover. During this video, he also gave a preview of a song, entitled ''Hand Over Hand'' featuring producer and rapper Anderson .Paak. Chinaka Hodge (born 1984/1985) is an American poet, educator, playwright and screenwriter. She has received national recognition for her publications, especially her artistic work on gentrification. Biography Chinaka Hodge was born in Oakland, California and lived in various neighborhoods of the city throughout the course of her childhood. In May 2006, Hodge graduated from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and was honored to be the student speaker at the 174th Commencement exercise. Karmin was an American pop duo consisting of Amy Renee Noonan and Nick Noonan. Starting as a novelty act that released covers on YouTube, they signed in 2011 with Epic Records. Ryan Michael Peters (born July 1, 1985), better known by the stage name Spose, is an American rapper from Wells, Maine. Early life Peters was born in Portland, Maine. He grew up in Wells, Maine. ''Epic Rap Battles of History'' (ERB) is a YouTube web series and music project created by Peter "Nice Peter" Shukoff and Lloyd "EpicLLOYD" Ahlquist. The series pits historical and pop culture figures against one another in a rap battle format. The characters portrayed are often determined by suggestions from viewers in the comments sections of the channel's videos. Shukoff and Ahlquist write each song themselves, researching the subject in order to find obscure details to use as references in the lyrics, although certain Patreon subscribers have also contributed to the writing process.
