Waterlillies was a male-female electronica–pop– trip hop duo that released a pair of albums on Sire/ Reprise/ Warner Bros. Records in the 1990s. Group members are instrumentalist and producer Ray Carroll, with vocalist Jill Alikas-St. Thomas. Its first album was ''Envoluptuousity'' (1992). The group's biggest success came in 1994 when the title track of its second album, ''Tempted'', hit number four on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. ''Tempted'' is the second, and last, album by the American dance duo Waterlillies. It was released in 1994. The title track was a top 10 hit on the ''Billboard'' Dance Club Songs chart. Production The album was mostly produced by Ray Carroll. "Take My Breath Away" was written and produced by Sandra Jill Alikas. ''Tempted'' includes a cover of " Close to You". The Junior Vasquez remix of "Never Get Enough" topped the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart for a week in April 1995. Junior Vasquez
Junior Vasquez (born Donald Gregory Mattern, August 24, 1949) is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. He has been referred to as one of the only DJs of his time to gain international attention. Career Mattern moved to New York City as a young man of 25 in 1971 with ambitions of becoming a fashion designer, briefly attending Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and working for a while as a hairdresser. Mattern soon became fascinated with NYC nightlife especially the work of DJ Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage. He adopted the pseudonym "Junior Vasquez", taken from the Latino neighborhoods he frequented, despite his Italian and German ancestry, as a way to "reinvent" himself. He began his career in music production in the 1980s. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement.
