Julia Louisa Dumont
Julia Louisa Dumont (October 1794 – January 2, 1857) was an American educator and writer of prose. Born in the U.S. state of Ohio, she resided for 43 years at Vevay, Indiana. She is remembered as the first Hoosier to become known beyond the State through prose. In the group of writers and poets who flourished in the Ohio Valley in its early history, she was one of the chief figures. Her "Life Sketches from Common Paths: A Series of American Tales," published at New York City in 1856, is considered exemplary of the day. Early years and education Julia L. Cory (or Corey), the earliest female writer in the West whose poems, tales and sketches were preserved, was the daughter of Ebenezer and Martha D. Corey. Yarmouth is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, twelve miles north of the state's largest city, Portland. Waterford High School (WHS) is a public high school in Waterford, Washington County, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Wolf Creek Local School District. Their mascot is the Wildcat, and their official school colors are green and white. Athletics The Wildcats belong to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Tri-Valley Conference, a 13-member athletic conference located in southeastern Ohio. Wolf Creek (Muskingum River)
Wolf Creek is a tributary of the Muskingum River in the U.S. state of Ohio. It consists of two forks: the muddy fork, which begins toward Barlow, Ohio, Barlow, and the Clear Fork, which begins toward Chesterhill, Ohio, Chesterhill. The Clear Fork has interesting whitewater with a ledge called Chipmunk Falls and several interesting rapids which could be classified as up to class IV in difficulty. The Muskingum River (Shawnee: ') is a tributary of the Ohio River, approximately long, in southeastern Ohio in the United States. An important commercial route in the 19th century, it flows generally southward through the eastern hill country of Ohio. Via the Ohio, it is part of the Mississippi River watershed. The river is navigable for much of its length through a series of locks and dams.
