Washuk District
Washuk District ( Balochi and Urdu: ) is a district in Balochistan province of Pakistan. Washuk, the district headquarters, is located at the center of the district. Administration Washuk District was once part of Kharan District in Balochistan province. It was declared a separate district in 2007, but its governance issues are largely managed by Kharan's district administration. It is further subdivided into 3 ''Tehsils'' or subdistricts, 10 union councils and 216 ''mauzas'' (villages). Geography Washuk District is spread over 33,093 km2, of which only 71,520 hectares are arable. The rest consists mostly of barren desert and mountains of the Central Makran Range. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census the district had a population of 175,712, of which 91,841 were males and 83,870 females. Alif Ailaan
Alif Ailaan ( ur, ) was a nonprofit organization working in the field of education in Pakistan from 2013 to 2018. Launched by a team of media and communications specialists, the program aimed to highlight education on priority basis in Pakistan and make the masses aware of the importance of education. It ran campaigns in print, on radio and television, and on social media for awareness of the masses about education. The program conducts seminars and surveys and publishes the highly cited district education rankings report. It also monitored the performance of parliamentarians in reforming education in their constituencies. Central Makran Range
The Central Makran Range is a mountain range in the Makran region, in southwestern section of Balochistan (Pakistan), Balochistan Province, in southwestern Pakistan. Geography It is one of three ranges in the mountain ranges system. The range's peaks are in elevation. Mirani Dam across the Dasht River forms a reservoir in the range, to provide irrigation water in the region and drinking water for the city of Gwadar. Geology The Central Makran Range is primarily made up of limestone and sandstone. It was formed when the northwestern Indian Plate collided with the Asian Plate. Kharan District
Kharan district ( bal, هاران/خاران; ur, ) is a district in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census the district had a population of 162,766, of which 84,631 were males and 78,135 females. Rural population was 111,378 (68.43%) while the urban population was 51,388 (31.57%). The literacy rate was 40.93% - the male literacy rate was 55.42% while the female literacy rate was 25.47%. 595 people in the district were from religious minorities. At the time of the 2017 census, 81.49% of the population spoke Balochi and 16.88% Brahui as their first language.
