Washoe Meadows State Park
Washoe Meadows State Park is a state park in California, consisting of more than of woodlands and meadows. It is located south of Lake Tahoe in El Dorado County. History Washoe Meadows State Park was established in 1984 to prevent the expansion of the Lake Tahoe Golf Course across the Truckee River, and was named after the local Washoe people. In 2018, parts of the park were used alongside nearby South Lake Tahoe Airport as filming locations for Top Gun: Maverick. In 2023, Washoe Meadows was one of 12 California state parks subject to a memorandum of understanding between the California Department of Parks & Recreation and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada focused on cooperation and tribal access. El Dorado County (), officially the County of El Dorado, is a county located in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 191,185. The county seat is Placerville. The County is part of the Sacramento- Roseville-Arden-Arcade, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. South Lake Tahoe is the most populous city in El Dorado County, California, United States, in the Sierra Nevada. The city's population was 21,330 at the 2020 census, down from 21,403 at the 2010 census. The city, along the southern edge of Lake Tahoe, extends about west-southwest along U.S. Route 50, also known as Lake Tahoe Boulevard. The east end of the city, on the California–Nevada state line right next to the town of Stateline, Nevada, is mainly geared towards tourism, with T-shirt shops, restaurants, hotels, and Heavenly Mountain Resort with the Nevada casinos just across the state line in Stateline. South Lake Tahoe Airport
Lake Tahoe Airport is a public airport three miles southwest of South Lake Tahoe, in El Dorado County, California. It covers and has one runway; it is sometimes called Tahoe Valley Airport. The sandhill crane (''Antigone canadensis'') is a species of large crane of North America and extreme northeastern Siberia. The common name of this bird refers to habitat like that at the Platte River, on the edge of Nebraska's Sandhills on the American Great Plains. Sandhill Cranes are known to hangout at the edges of bodies of water especially in the Central Florida region.
