Washington Township is one of the fourteen townships of Clermont County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,182 at the 2020 census. Geography Located in the southern part of the county along the Ohio River, it borders the following townships: * Monroe Township - north * Tate Township - northeast * Franklin Township - east Across the Ohio River, Washington Township borders Kentucky to the south and west: * Bracken County - south * Pendleton County - west * Campbell County - northwest Two villages are located in Washington Township along the Ohio River: Moscow in the west, and Neville in the southwest. Name and history Washington Township was organized in 1801. It is one of 43 Washington Townships statewide. Neville, Ohio
Neville is a village in Clermont County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 87 at the 2020 census. History Neville was laid out in 1808, and named for Gen. Presley Neville, the original owner of the town site. A post office called Neville has been in operation since 1816. Since the Ohio River Valley flood in March 1997, the village has lost more than half its population as the Federal Emergency Management Agency purchased about 40% of the village's flood-prone lots. In 2016, Neville survived an initiative on dissolving the village into surrounding Washington Township. Moscow, Ohio
Moscow is a village in Clermont County, Ohio. The population was 185 at the time of the 2010 census. The William H. Zimmer Power Station, a coal-fired power plant was converted from a planned nuclear power plant during construction. It is partially located within village limits. It is located near the Ulysses S. Grant Birthplace. History Moscow was platted in 1816. The name may have been given to the town by French immigrants who were veterans of Napoleon's siege of Moscow. A post office called Moscow has been in operation since 1826. William J. Bulow, a U.S. Senator from South Dakota and Governor of South Dakota, was born in Moscow in 1869 and attended local schools. Bracken County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,488. Its county seat is Brooksville. The county was formed in 1796. Bracken County is included in the Cincinnati-Middletown, OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area.
