Warriewood
Warriewood is a suburb in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Warriewood is located 26 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Warriewood is part of the Northern Beaches region. History Warriewood takes its name from the Warriewood Estate that was subdivided in 1906 by Henry F. Halloran, who had purchased it from the McPherson family. Commercial areas Warriewood Square (previously known as Centro Warriewood) is a medium-size shopping centre in the southern part of the suburb. There is also a small cluster of shops located on Narrabeen Park Parade opposite Warriewood Beach. The suburb also contains a cinema complex, industrial area, a mini putt-putt golf, golf driving range and a McDonald's restaurant. Warriewood Square
Warriewood Square (previously known as Centro Warriewood) is a shopping centre in the suburb of Warriewood in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney. Transport Warriewood Square has bus connections to the Sydney CBD and the Northern Beaches, as well as local surrounding suburbs. It is served by Keolis Downer Northern Beaches which includes the B-Line services. The majority of the bus service are located on Jacksons Road and Pittwater Road. There is no railway station at Warriewood; the nearest station is located at Chatswood. Warriewood Square also has a multi level car park with 1,450 spaces. History Warriewood Square opened in 1981 and included over 30 stores. The centre included a Kmart, Coles and Franklins. B-Line is a bus route operated by Keolis Downer Northern Beaches between the central business district and the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia. History In November 2015, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) announced the construction of a 27 kilometre bus rapid transit network between Newport on the Northern Beaches and the Sydney central business district. It began operating on 26 November 2017 as route B1 between Mona Vale, New South Wales, Mona Vale and Wynyard Park, Sydney, Wynyard Park. A planned extension to Newport was later cancelled following opposition from local residents with concerns that improved public transport infrastructure would be used to justify new high density housing developments. Mater Maria Catholic College
Mater Maria Catholic College is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in Warriewood, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 1962 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan and is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay. History In January 1962, Sisters of the Good Samaritan founded a secondary school for thirty-eight Catholic girls at Narrabeen. In 1964 the college moved to Forest Road at Warriewood. The school's immediate priority was to educate the girls in a peaceful environment. Mona Vale is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 28 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in an area known as the Northern Beaches. Formerly the administrative centre of Pittwater Council, it is now located in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. The traditional custodians of the area are the Garigal people. The Northern Beaches is a region within Northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia, near the Pacific coast. This area extends south to the entrance of Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour), west to Middle Harbour and north to the entrance of Broken Bay. The Division of Mackellar is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. History The division is named after Sir Charles Mackellar, a social reformer and surgeon who served in the Senate from October to November 1903, and his daughter Dorothea Mackellar, a 20th-century Australian poet.
