Warren Township is one of nine townships in Marion County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 99,433. Warren Township was named for Joseph Warren. Warren Central High School, Creston Middle School, and Raymond Park Middle School are located within the township. Warren Central High School (Indiana)
Warren Central High School, also known as Warren, WC, or WCHS, is a public high school located in Warren Township on the far east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the only high school in Warren Township with an enrollment of 3,736 students, in grades 9-12, as of the 2016-2017 school year. Warren Central is known as "The Pride of the Eastside". Its school colors are Black and Vegas Gold and the nickname is the Warriors. The school fight song is Rah, Rah For Warren. The original Warren Central opened on January 12, 1925, at the corner of 10th Street and Post Road on the far east side of Indianapolis. It was a consolidation of the Cumberland and Shadeland schools which both had high schools that were too small for the growing township population. Eastgate, Indianapolis
Eastgate is a neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis located within the I-465 loop, and bounded on the north by E. 16th Street, on the south by E. Washington Street, on the east by Franklin Road, and on the west by Shadeland Avenue. The neighborhood was best known as the site of the Eastgate Shopping Center (later renamed Eastgate Consumer Mall), the first mall in Indiana. In May 2008 the shopping center was sold to Lifeline Data Centers, who turned it into a colocation site. Joseph Warren
Joseph Warren (June 11, 1741 – June 17, 1775), a Founding Father of the United States, was an American physician who was one of the most important figures in the Patriot movement in Boston during the early days of the American Revolution, eventually serving as President of the revolutionary Massachusetts Provincial Congress. Warren enlisted Paul Revere and William Dawes on April 18, 1775, to leave Boston and spread the alarm that the British garrison in Boston was setting out to raid the town of Concord and arrest rebel leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams.
