Warren A. Haggott
Warren Armstrong Haggott (May 18, 1864 – April 29, 1958) was a U.S. Representative from Colorado. Born near Sidney, Ohio, Haggott attended the common schools, Sidney Grammar School, and Xenia (Ohio) College. He was graduated from Valparaiso (Indiana) College in 1886. He taught school in Dallas County, Texas, in 1886 and 1887. He moved to Idaho Springs, Colorado, in 1887. He taught school in Russell Gulch, Gilpin County, in 1887 and 1888. He was the school principal in Black Hawk in 1888 and 1889. He was the superintendent of public schools at Idaho Springs, Colorado from 1890 to 1899. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1892 and commenced practice in 1899 at Idaho Springs, Colorado. He served as the 12th Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1902 to 1903. Lieutenant Governors Of Colorado
The lieutenant governor of Colorado is the second-highest-ranking member of the executive department of the Government of Colorado, United States, below the governor of Colorado. The lieutenant governor of Colorado, who acts as governor of Colorado in the absence of the officeholder and succeeds to the governorship in case of vacancy, is elected on a partisan ticket. After the 1966 general election, the Constitution of Colorado was amended to require the joint election of governor and lieutenant governor — candidates running as a ticket. Prior to this amendment, the lieutenant governor candidate was elected separately from the governor during the same election—sometimes resulting in a governor and a lieutenant governor from different political parties. John Andrew Martin
John Andrew Martin (April 10, 1868 – December 23, 1939) was an American journalist, attorney, soldier, and politician, who represented Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives. He recruited troops and commanded the 115th Supply Train, Fortieth Division during World War I. Early life and education He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of Hugh and Ann (Bohan) Martin. He acquired a public school education in Mexico and in Fulton, Missouri until he was twelve years old and began working in a tobacco factory. He moved with his parents to Kansas in 1884 and worked on a farm in Turon. Career He came to Colorado in 1887. He was employed on railroad construction work and as a locomotive fireman from 1887 to 1894; He worked on the construction of the Colorado Midland Railroad and then as a locomotive engineer on the Santa Fe. Fairmount Cemetery (Denver, Colorado)
Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, was founded in 1890 and is Denver's second oldest operating cemetery after Riverside Cemetery. It was designed by German landscape architect Reinhard Schuetze. The cemetery was patterned after Mount Auburn Cemetery in Boston. The cemetery is 280 acres. The first year the cemetery opened over 4500 trees and shrubs were planted by Schuetze.
