Warner Pacific College
Warner Pacific University is a private Christian university in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1937, the university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and affiliated with the Church of God. History The school was established by the Church of God, whose founder was Daniel Sidney Warner. The church voted to establish the college in September 1935, and in January 1936 the church bought land in Spokane, Washington, for the school. It was then incorporated on February 9, 1937, as Pacific Bible College with classes starting in October 1937. Then Pacific Bible College moved to Oregon in 1940 to its current campus in the Mount Tabor neighborhood of Southeast Portland. In 1959, it was renamed as Warner Pacific College, and in 1961 received full accredition by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Brent Goulet
Brent Goulet (born June 19, 1964) is a retired American soccer forward who later coached SV Elversberg from 2004 to 2008. He began his career in the United States before moving to England and Germany, and also earned eight caps with the U.S. national team. He was the 1987 U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year (Most prestigious award in U.S. Soccer) and was a member of the United States Olympic Soccer team at the (1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea). Vic Gilliam
Victor Stephen Gilliam (July 21, 1953June 17, 2020) was an American politician and actor who served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2007 to 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Gilliam resigned in 2017 due to health problems. After serving as a legislative aide from 1976 to 1981, he unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Oregon House of Representatives. In 2007, he was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Mac Sumner's resignation and served until his own resignation in 2017. Gilliam was also an actor who appeared in multiple television shows. Grant Gibbs
Grant Gibbs is a former U.S. soccer defender who spent his professional career in clubs F.C. Portland, Seattle Storm and Miami Freedom. Biography Gibbs grew up in Federal Way, Washington, where he attended Thomas Jefferson High School. After graduating from high school in 1982, Gibbs attended Warner Pacific College. While in college, he played for F.C. Portland of the Western Soccer Alliance (WSA) from 1985 to 1987. In 1988, he moved to the Seattle Storm where he played until the end of the 1990 season. He was a first team All Star in 1988 and a second team All Star in 1989. In December 1989 and January 1990, he travelled to England where he trained with the lower division clubs Leyton Orient and AFC Bournemouth. Dan Birkey
Daniel Birkey (born December 10, 1957) is an American soccer coach who has worked in the game at the club, collegiate and professional levels. He was the head men's soccer coach at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, from 1988 to 2020. Upon Concordia's shift to NCAA Division II in 2015, Birkey was the 10th all-time winningest men's soccer coach in NAIA history (27 years in NAIA, with .671 winning percentage). Steve Ancheta
Steve Ancheta (born September 10, 1969 in Portland, Oregon) is a former U.S. soccer defender who played two seasons in the Western Soccer Alliance. Ancheta is currently the head coach at West Linn High School. Player Ancheta graduated from Reynolds High School. He then attended Warner Pacific College, playing on the men’s soccer team in 1988 and 1989. He then transferred to Oregon State University for the 1990 and 1991 season. Gene Amondson
Gene C. Amondson (October 15, 1943 – July 20, 2009) was a painter, woodcarver, Christian minister and prohibition activist, who was the 2004 US presidential nominee for one faction of the Prohibition Party and the nominee of the unified party in 2008. The son of a logger, Amondson was born into a Pacific Northwest lumberjack culture laden with alcoholism. He became interested in the temperance movement while attending Divinity School. After establishing himself as a preacher and artist in the community of Vashon Island, Washington, Amondson began touring the nation reenacting Billy Sunday sermons and attending events dressed as the Grim Reaper to protest alcohol corporations. Chris Agnello
Chris Agnello (born 1968) an American soccer coach who co-founded and coached the Utah Blitzz of the USL Second Division in 2000. Career Agnello was the 1985 Gatorade Utah Player of the Year. He attended Warner Pacific College, playing on the men's soccer team. He then earned his master's degree in Exercise Sport Science from the University of Utah in 1998. In 2012 he completed his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Utah. Over the years, he coached several youth teams before helping found the Utah Blitzz in 2000. Powell Butte
Powell Butte is an extinct cinder cone butte in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is part of the Boring Lava Field, which includes more than 80 small volcanic edifices and lava flows in the Portland–Vancouver metropolitan area. The region around Powell Butte has a cool climate, and the butte and its surroundings feature meadows, rivers, and mixed forests. Powell Butte hosts the Powell Butte Nature Park, which includes about of trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding.
