Warner Brothers Movie World
Warner Bros. Movie World is a theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Owned and operated by Village Roadshow Theme Parks, the park opened on 3 June 1991. It is part of a entertainment precinct, with the adjacent Village Roadshow Studios and nearby Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast, among other sites operated by Village Roadshow. Movie World is Australia's only film-related theme park and the oldest of the Warner Bros. parks worldwide (the others are at Parque Warner Madrid, Madrid and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi). As of 2016, it receives a yearly average of 1.4 million visitors. In the late 1980s, a failed film studio lot and its adjacent land were bought out by Village. They entered a joint venture with Pivot Leisure (part-owners of the nearby Sea World (Australia), Sea World) and Warner to develop the land into a theme park. Designed by C. V. Oxenford is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Oxenford had a population of 11,842 people. Geography The suburb is bordered to the west and north by the Coomera River, to the east by the Pacific Motorway and to the south by Universal Street, Binstead Way, Kopps Road and the Gaven Arterial Road. The western edge of the suburb is also bordered by the Coomera River, which can only be crossed via the Coomera River causeway. Tamborine-Oxenford Road (State Route 95) runs through from west to north-east. The neighbourhood of Studio Village is the south of the suburb (). It is adjacent to Wet'n'Wild Water World and Warner Bros. Movie World. the subdivision's name itself was inspired by Movie World. The street names in the subdivision refer to objects or people within Hollywood and film culture.
