Philo McCullough (June 16, 1893 – June 5, 1981) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1914 and 1969. He was born in San Bernardino, California, and died in Burbank, California. McCullough's film debut came in 1912 with the Selig Company. For films in which any portion of the footage remains (including trailers), see List of incomplete or partially lost films. Reasons for loss Films may go missing for a number of reasons. One major contributing factor is the common use of nitrate film until the early 1950s. This type of film is highly flammable, and there have been several devastating fires, such as the Universal Pictures fire in 1924, the 1937 Fox vault fire and the 1965 MGM vault fire. Black-and-white film prints judged to be otherwise worthless were sometimes incinerated to salvage the meager scrap value of the silver image particles in their emulsions. A lost film is a feature or short film that no longer exists in any studio archive, private collection, public archive or the U.S. Library of Congress. Conditions During most of the 20th century, U.S. copyright law required at least one copy of every American film to be deposited at the Library of Congress at the time of copyright registration, but the Librarian of Congress was not required to retain those copies: "Under the provisions of the act of March 4, 1909, authority is granted for the return to the claimant of copyright of such copyright deposits as are not required by the Library." Wade Boteler
Wade Boteler (October 3, 1888 – May 7, 1943) was an American film actor and writer. He appeared in more than 430 films between 1919 and 1943. Biography He was born in Santa Ana, California, and died in Hollywood, California, from a heart attack. Boteler graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After he graduated, he stayed there as a director until he joined the Army in World War I. For three years in the mid-1920s, he worked for Douglas MacLean's film company as both actor and writer. Truck Hannah
James Harrison "Truck" Hannah (June 5, 1889 – April 27, 1982) was a Major League Baseball catcher who also had a lengthy minor league career. Hannah played three seasons with the New York Yankees (1918–1920). He had 173 career hits in 736 at bats. He also had five home runs. He was the first Major League Baseball player born in North Dakota and would be the only one until 1930. Hannah's minor league playing career extended from 1909, when he played for Tacoma of the Northwestern League, through 1940, when he played for Memphis of the Southern Association. Hannah managed for seven seasons in the minor leagues, serving as player-manager of the Los Angeles Angels of the PCL during 1937-38-39. He is a member of the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame. Wallace James Hood Sr. (February 9, 1895 – May 2, 1965), was a professional baseball player who played outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Brooklyn Robins from 1920 to 1922. Chester David "Pinch" Thomas (January 24, 1888 – December 24, 1953) was an American professional baseball catcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1912 through 1921 for the Boston Red Sox (1912–17) and Cleveland Indians (1918–21). Mike Donlin
Michael Joseph Donlin (May 30, 1878 – September 24, 1933) was an American Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder and actor. As a professional baseball player, his MLB career spanned from 1899 to 1914 in which he played mainly in the National League for seven teams over 12 seasons. His most notable time was with the New York Giants, where he starred in the outfield for John McGraw's 1904 pennant winners and 1905 World Series champions. One of the finest hitters of the dead-ball era, his .333 career batting average ranks 28th all time and he finished in the top three in batting five times.
