Warkop
Warkop (an abbreviation of Warung Kopi, meaning "coffee stall") were an Indonesian comedy troupe that enjoyed success in radio, films and television over the 1980s and 1990s. Assembled in Jakarta on 1976 under Prambors management, they initially went by the name Warkop Prambors. They soon burgeoned as the country's top comedy group, surpassing Srimulat and Jakarta Group. After their film debut, they settled on the name Warkop DKI (taken from the initials of the three main members: Dono, Kasino and Indro; and also a play on Jakarta's official name, DKI Jakarta). Besides acting on numerous films, they also made sitcoms on ANteve in 1995-1997 as Warkop (Warung Kopi) DKI and Indosiar during 1997-2001 as Warkop Millennium. Indrodjojo Kusumonegoro
Mahatkarta Indrodjojo Kusumonegoro (born 8 May 1958), better known by the mononym Indro and also called as Indro Warkop, is an Indonesian actor and comedian. Indro is the only surviving member of the comedy group Warkop. Career Early career and success with Warkop Indro's introduction to the Warkop group began in 1976 when he was still in high school. To increase his income, he applied to become a radio announcer in Prambors. At that time, other Warkop colleagues such as Dono, Kasino, Nanu Moeljono, and Rudy Badil wanted to make a broadcast program titled casual chat with a humorous topic. Wahjoe Sardono
Wahjoe Sardono ( EYD: Wahyu Sardono, 30 September 1951 – 30 December 2001), commonly called as Dono Warkop, was an Indonesian actor, comedian and lecturer who was a member of the Warkop group. Career Dono was born and raised in Delanggu, Klaten, Central Java. While attending SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta, he had to ride a bicycle for tens of kilometers round-trip from Klaten to Solo. While in high school, Dono's leadership talent was already seen with him being trusted to serve as chairman of student council (OSIS). Dono then studied at the University of Indonesia majoring in sociology. While studying, Dono was already actively working in several newspapers, including Tribune and Salemba, mainly as a caricaturist. Both print media stopped publishing in 1974. Kasino Hadiwibowo
Kasino Hadiwibowo (15 September 1950 – 18 December 1997), commonly called as Kasino Warkop, was an Indonesian actor and comedian who was a member of the comedy group Warkop. Profile Kasino was born in Gombong, Kebumen, Central Java to Notopramono and Kasiyem. During his youth he had to move around because he followed his father who was an employee at PNKA (now PT. KAI). Initially he attended SD Budi Utomo, Jakarta and continued to SMP Negeri 51 Jakarta. When he was in high school, he followed his father who was assigned to Cirebon and attended SMA Negeri 2 Cirebon before finally moving to SMA Negeri 22 Jakarta until he graduated. Rudy Badil
Rudy David Badil (29 November 1945 – 11 July 2019) was an Indonesian journalist who co-founded the comedy group Warkop with Nanu Moeljono, Kasino Hadiwibowo (Kasino), Wahjoe Sardono (Dono), and Indrodjojo Kusumonegoro (Indro). Before being known as Warkop DKI (acronym from Dono-Kasino-Indro), this group was called Warkop Prambors, which broadcast humorous entertainment programs through Radio Prambors. While studying at the University of Indonesia, Badil was one of the students taught by Dono. He is also known to be a friend of Soe Hok Gie, with those who had climbed the mountain together. After leaving the Warkop group due to stage fright, Badil worked as a journalist at Kompas since 6 August 1980. He then retired on 29 November 2005. Lydia Ruth Elizabeth Kandou or better known as Lydia Kandou (born in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 21, 1963) is an Indonesian actress and model of mixed Dutch, Filipino and Minahasan descent. Biography Kandou was born in Jakarta on 21 February 1963. She is of mixed Manado and Dutch descent. Kandou first found work as a model. When 16 years old, she was invited to act by director Imam Tantowi. She made her feature film debut in Has Manan's ''Wanita Segala Zaman''.
