Waris Ali Shah
Waris Ali Shah (1817–1905) was a Sufi saint from Dewa, Barabanki, India, and the founder of the Warsi Sufi order. He traveled to many places specially Europe and the west and admitted people to his spiritual order. He belongs to the 26th generation of Hazrat Imam Hussain A.S His shrine is at Dewa, India. Life In the book "Islamic Review and Muslim India", (Kraus Reprint, 1971) it was mentioned that Waris Ali Shah had lived his life as the Christ lived. Father His father was Qurban Ali Shah, whose tomb is in Dewa. At an early age Shah showed an inclination for a religious life. Social engagements He went to Mecca for pilgrimage many times. During his travels in Europe, he visited the Sultan of Turkey and Otto von Bismarck in Berlin. He also traveled to England and had an audience with Queen Victoria. He was a friend of Abdul Bari. Uttar Pradesh (; , 'Northern Province') is a state in northern India. Sufism has a history in India evolving for over 1,000 years. The presence of Sufism has been a leading entity increasing the reaches of Islam throughout South Asia.Schimmel, p.346 Following the entrance of Islam in the early 8th century, Sufi mystic traditions became more visible during the 10th and 11th centuries of the Delhi Sultanate and after it to the rest of India. Islam is India's second-largest religion, with 14.2% of the country's population, approximately 172.2 million people identifying as adherents of Islam in 2011 Census. Safar
Ṣafar ( ar, صَفَر) also spelt as Safer in Turkish, is the second month of the lunar Islamic calendar. The Arabic word ''ṣafar'' means "travel, migration", corresponding to the pre-Islamic Arabian time period when muslims flee the oppression of Quraish in Mecca and travelled (most of the them barefooted)to Madina. Most of the Islamic months were named according to ancient Arabian weather conditions; however, since the calendar is lunar, the months shift by about 11 days every solar year, meaning that these conditions do not necessarily correspond to the name of the month. Timing The Islamic calendar is a purely lunar calendar, and its months begin when the first crescent of a new moon is sighted. Khuda Bakhsh (or Bux) Sheikh ( ur, , hi, ख़ुदा बख़्श शेख़) was an Urdu writer and poet from the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, India. He published poetry in Arabic, Urdu and Persian.
