Werder ( so, Wardheer; it, Uardere) is a town in eastern Ethiopia. Ogaden National Liberation Front
The Ogaden National Liberation Front (abbreviated ONLF, so, Jabhadda Wadaniga Xoreynta Ogaadeeniya; ar, الجبهة الوطنية لتحرير أوجادين) is a social and political movement, founded in 1984 to campaign for the right to self-determination for Somalis in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Its armed wing, the Ogaden National Liberation Army (ONLA), waged a violent insurgency against the Ethiopian government from 1994 to 2018. Walwal
Welwel (, also transliterated Walwaal; ), is a town in eastern Ethiopia known as the Ogaden. Located in the Werder Zone of the Somali Region, this town has a longitude and latitude of with an elevation of 570 meters above sea level. Welwel has an estimated population of 842 according to the 2007 census. From 1903 Welwel, together with Werder & Qorrahee, became Dervish centers headed by Sayid Khalif Abdullah Hassan, brother of the Sayid Mohammed. The town & its surrounding region was kept under Dervish rule through a series of forts erected there. The control of this region allowed the Dervish to count, even in the most critical moments, on a source of animal supply, also collected in the form of a tribute, taking it away from the traditional authorities. The Central Statistical Agency (CSA; Amharic: ማዕከላዊ ስታቲስቲክስ ኤጀንሲ) is an agency of the government of Ethiopia designated to provide all surveys and censuses for that country used to monitor economic and social growth, as well as to act as an official training center in that field. The 2007–2008 Ethiopian crackdown in Ogaden was a military campaign by the Ethiopian Army against the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF). The crackdown against the guerrillas began after they killed 74 people in an attack on a Chinese-run oil exploration field in April 2007. Kelafo ( so, Qalaafe, am, ቀላፎ, translit=Qällafo) is a town in eastern Ethiopia. Located in the Gode Zone of the Somali Region, this town has a latitude and longitude of and an elevation of 233 meters above sea level. Geladi
Geladin ( so, Geladi) is a town in eastern Ethiopia. Located in the Dollo Zone of the Somali Region, this town has an elevation between 427 and 530 meters above sea level. Arthur Donaldson Smith records he visited Geladin (which he also calls "Bari") in January 1895, which he estimated had 3,000 inhabitants at the time. The British used Geladin as a base during their war against Diiriye Guure in 1903, after their victory over Diiriye Guure at Erigo. By 1932, the Italians had built a road from Danot to Geladin over terrain that officially lay within Ethiopian territory. This was one of many acts that led to the Second Italian-Abyssinian War years later.
