Wanitsuka Prefectural Natural Park
is a Prefectural Natural Park in southern Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1961, the park spans the Municipalities of Japan, municipalities of Mimata, Miyazaki, Mimata, Miyakonojō, Miyazaki, Miyakonojō, Miyazaki, Miyazaki, Miyazaki, and Nichinan, Miyazaki, Nichinan. The park encompasses a number of valleys in the Wanitsuka, , and Tokuso mountains and is celebrated for its views of the Mount Kirishima, Kirishima mountains and Sakurajima. Miyazaki Prefecture
is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyūshū. Miyazaki Prefecture has a population of 1,073,054 (1 June 2019) and has a geographic area of 7,735 km2 (2,986 sq mi). Miyazaki Prefecture borders Ōita Prefecture to the north, Kumamoto Prefecture to the northwest, and Kagoshima Prefecture to the southwest. Miyazaki, Miyazaki
is the capital city of Miyazaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu in Japan. The city was founded on April 1, 1924. Nichinan, Miyazaki
is a city in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on January 1, 1950. As of June 1, 2019, the city has an estimated population of 51,241 and a population density of 95.6 persons per km2. The total area is 536.11 km2. History Nichinan began as part of the Fujiwara Shōen in the Heian period. The city's history and development were heavily influenced by the history of Obi town, a district of Nichinan which still exists today. Obi was one of the eight districts of Hyūga, an old province in eastern Japan, which was ruled by the Itō clan based at Obi Castle. Throughout the Sengoku period, the Itō clan's most serious rival was the neighbouring Shimazu clan. Mount Kirishima
are a 1700 meter high active volcano group in Kagoshima Prefecture and Miyazaki Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. Numerous eruptions have been recorded since 742. Very strong eruptions happened in 788, 1716 and 1717. Augite-hypersthene andesite is the dominant rock type. The highest peak is (1700 m). Its name literally means "Korea Peak"; it was once believed to be so high that the Korean Peninsula could be seen from its summit. Other peaks include the sacred anoften fabled in national foundation mythology (1573 m) as well as , both active volcanoes. They are part of Kirishima-Yaku National Park near Kirishima City. Sakurajima
Sakurajima ( ja, 桜島, literally "Cherry Blossom Island") is an active stratovolcano, formerly an island and now a peninsula, in Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. The lava flows of the 1914 eruption connected it with the Ōsumi Peninsula. It is the most active volcano in Japan. As of April 2021, the volcanic activity still continues, dropping volcanic ash on the surroundings. Earlier eruptions built the white sand highlands in the region. On September 13, 2016, a team of experts from Bristol University and the Sakurajima Volcano Research Centre in Japan suggested that the volcano could have a major eruption within 30 years; since then two eruptions have occurred. Sakurajima is a stratovolcano. Its summit has three peaks, ''Kita-dake'' (northern peak), ''Naka-dake'' ( central peak) and ''Minami-dake'' (southern peak) which is active now.
