Wang Yi (politician)
Wang Yi (; born 19 October 1953) is a senior Chinese diplomat and politician serving as the Foreign Minister since 2012, State Councilor since 2018, and a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party. Personal life Wang was born in Beijing. After graduating from high school in September 1969, he was sent to Northeast China. He subsequently served in the Northeast Construction Army Corps in Heilongjiang Province for eight years. In December 1977, Wang returned to Beijing and in the same year was enrolled in the department of Asian and African Languages of Beijing International Studies University. He studied Japanese at the institution, graduating in February 1982 with a bachelor's degree. He is known to speak fluent English and Japanese. Wu Dawei
Wu Dawei ( ; ; born 1946) was the previous special representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs and former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Personal life Wu was born in 1946 in Heilongjiang province, China. He attended the Beijing Foreign Studies University before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wu is married and has one daughter. Career Wu's career has largely taken him back and forth between China and Japan. His first assignment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was as an attaché to the Chinese embassy in Japan, lasting from 1973 to 1979. China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU; ) is a public university for diplomats located in Beijing, China. It is jointly administrated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education. It is a Chinese state Double First Class University Plan university identified by the Ministry of Education of China. Since its foundation, there have been over 300 ambassadors and thousands of senior diplomats and counselors among the alumni of CFAU, gaining the university a reputation as "the cradle of Chinese diplomats." The State Council, constitutionally synonymous with the Central People's Government since 1954 (particularly in relation to local governments), is the chief administrative authority of the People's Republic of China.
