Wan Rizal Wan Zakariah
Wan Rizal bin Wan Zakariah (born 1978) is a Singaporean politician and sport science lecturer. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Kolam Ayer division of Jalan Besar GRC since 2020. Education During Rizal's secondary school education, he was under the Normal (Academic) stream. He subsequently went on to complete a diploma in electronics at Temasek Polytechnic in 1999, before graduating with a Bachelor of Science with second upper honours degree in physical education from the Nanyang Technological University in 2009. He subsequently went on to obtained a PhD in physical education from the Nanyang Technological University in 2017. Parliament Of Singapore
The Parliament of Singapore is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of Singapore, which governs the country alongside the president of Singapore. Largely based upon the Westminster system, the Parliament is made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) who are elected, as well as Non-constituency Members of Parliament (NCMPs) and Nominated Members of Parliament (NMPs) who are appointed. Following the 2020 general election, 93 (currently 92) MPs and two NCMPs were elected to the 14th Parliament. Nine NMPs will usually be appointed by the president. 2020 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on Friday, 10 July 2020 to elect 93 members to the Parliament of Singapore across 31 constituencies. Parliament was dissolved and the general election called by President Halimah Yacob on 23 June, on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. It elected members of parliament to the 14th Parliament of Singapore since Singapore's independence in 1965, using the first-past-the-post electoral system. Voting was mandatory for all Singaporeans who were aged 21 or above as of 1 March 2020. This election was the 18th general election in Singapore and the 13th since independence. Meet-the-People Sessions
The Meet-the-People Sessions (MPS) is a series of one-to-one meetings between elected Members of the Singapore Parliament, Members of Parliament (MPs) and their constituents in Singapore. The sessions are usually held once a week at a local constituency office staffed by partisan volunteers. Constituents visit their representative in the hope of resolving their various problems encountered in daily living. The MP will then write letters to the relevant Organisation of the Government of Singapore, ministry, Statutory boards of the Singapore Government, statutory board or any concerned parties to appeal on behalf of the constituent. Zainal bin Sapari ( Jawi:زاينل ساڤري; born 30 November 1965) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Pasir Ris East division of Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC between 2011 and 2020. Early life and career Zainal came from a family of seven, with his father working as a rank-and-file employee and his mother providing domestic assistance to an expatriate family. Republic Polytechnic
Republic Polytechnic (RP) is a post-secondary education institution and statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Established in 2002, it is the first and only polytechnic in Singapore to use the problem-based learning (PBL) pedagogy for all of its programmes.
