Walton Grange No. 1454 is a historic The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry, Grange building located at 137 Stockton Avenue in Walton (village), New York, Walton in Delaware County, New York, Delaware County, New York (state), New York, United States. Designed by architects Randall and Gilbert of Walton and built in 1886, it consists of a two-story administration building with an attached gable roofed drill shed. It was occupied from 1886-1896 by the 33rd Separate Company then vacated in 1896 and converted for use as a school and a Grange hall. Walton is a village in the town of Walton in Delaware County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the village population was 3,088. Walton is the home of the annual Delaware County Fair, which is typically held in August. There are three primary and secondary schools in Walton: Townsend Elementary School, Mack Middle School, and O'Neill High School. History The Christ Episcopal Church, First Congregational Church of Walton, Gardiner Place Historic District, U.S. Post Office, and the Walton Grange 1454-Former Armory, all listed on the National Register of Historic Places, are located in the village. Walton is the birthplace of William B. Ogden (born 15 June 1805), the first mayor of Chicago and a founder of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad line.
