Walt Bachrach
Walton H. Bachrach (December 22, 1904—December 17, 1989) was a businessman, lawyer, and Republican politician who served as the mayor of Cincinnati from 1961—1967 and on the City Council from 1953—1967. Early life Bachrach was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 22, 1904, the only child of businessman and first-generation American Fisher Bachrach and his wife Rose (née Silverglade). Bachrach's father Fisher came to the United States from Poland with his father Max when he was 6. The family owned a dry goods store. Rose, his mother, was the daughter of Meyer Silverglade, a restauranteer who opened and operated the short-lived Hub Cafe. After Fisher and Rose married, they opened the Wheel Cafe in 1903, a restaurant that became a Cincinnati landmark for nearly a century. They later owned and operated a six-story hotel, called Hotel Walton, before closing it in 1926. Chadwick Antonio Kirkpatrick Walton (born 3 July 1985) is a West Indies cricketer from Jamaica. Nicknamed Rope, Walton is a right-hand batsman and wicket keeper who played a series of first class cricket matches for Combined Campuses and Colleges and University of West Indies Vice-Chancellor's XI before being chosen for the West Indies Test side. Walton Hale Hamilton (October 30, 1881 – October 27, 1958) was an American law professor who taught at Yale Law School (1928–1948), although he was an economist, not a lawyer. In 1919, Hamilton coined the term "institutional economics". Life and work Born in Tennessee, Hamilton received a B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1907 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 1913. Walton Kirk Jr, the son of Walton Sr. and Gertrude Kirk, grew up in Mount Vernon, Illinois and graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1942, known in his home town and in southern Illinois as 'Junior' Kirk. While in high school, Kirk played basketball and was a first team all-state selection in 1942.
