Cyril Walters
Cyril Frederick Walters (28 August 1905 – 23 December 1992) was a Welsh first-class cricketer who had most of his success after leaving Glamorgan to do duty as captain-secretary of Worcestershire. In this role he developed his batting to such an extent that for a brief period he became an England regular and even captained them in one match as a deputy for Bob Wyatt. However, he unexpectedly completely gave up cricket soon after that, to the dismay of his country and county. Biography Walters was born Bedlinog, Glamorgan, Wales. Educated at Neath Grammar School, he first played for Glamorgan as a seventeen-year-old in 1923. Although he only made one score of over fifty in three full seasons, Glamorgan's batting was of such a standard that he remained in the eleven, especially with his energetic fielding. Henry Walters (cricketer)
Henry George Walters (6 November 1917 – 25 August 1944) was a New Zealand cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman who played for Auckland. He was born in Auckland and died during World War II in the English Channel when serving as a Flight Sergeant with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Walters made a single first-class appearance for the team, during the 1941–42 season, against Wellington. From the opening order, he scored 81 runs in the first innings in which he batted, and 39 runs in the second, as Auckland won the match by a comfortable margin. Henry Walters
Henry Walters (September 26, 1848 – November 30, 1931) was noted as an art collector and philanthropist, a founder of the Walters Art Gallery (now the Walters Art Museum) in Baltimore, Maryland, which he donated to the city in his 1931 will for the benefit of the public. From the late 19th century, Walters lived most of the time in New York City, where from 1903 on, he served on the executive committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan on Fifth Avenue. He was selected as second vice president in 1913, a position he held until his death. Gordon Frederick Walters (24 September 1919 – 5 November 1995) was a Wellington-born artist and graphic designer who is significant to New Zealand culture due to his representation of New Zealand in his Modern Abstract artworks. Education Gordon Walters was born and raised in Wellington, where he went to Miramar South School and Rongotai College. From 1935 to 1939 he studied as a commercial artist at Wellington Technical College under Frederick V. Ellis. Francis Henry Walters (9 February 1860 – 1 June 1922) was an Australian cricketer. He played in one Test match in March 1885, and played first-class cricket from 1881 to 1896. Eric Walters (4 July 1937 – 18 August 2010) was an Australian journalist, media trainer and former television presenter. He was best known for his long-running stint as early morning anchor for the Nine Network, both on the ''Today'' and '' National Nine Early Morning News''. Career Walters joined Channel 7 Perth in 1961, aged 24, as a reporter and presenter. In the 1970s, Walters worked at TEN-10 Sydney as a newsreader on ''Eyewitness News''. Eric Robert Walters, (born March 3, 1957) is a Canadian author of young adult fiction and picture books. As of 2020, Eric Walters has written over 100 books. Background Walters was an elementary school teacher at Vista Heights Public School in Streetsville, Ontario. In 1993, he was teaching a grade 5 class in which many of the students were reluctant readers and writers. To encourage them, Walters wrote his first novel, ''Stand Your Ground''. The novel was set in the school and included features from the community and the names of many of his students. He has since written more than 70 novels for young adults. Kevin Douglas Walters (born 21 December 1945) is a former Australian cricketer. He was known as an attacking batsman, a useful part-time bowler, and also as a typical ocker. In 2011, he was inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame by the CA. First-class career Walters made his first-class debut for New South Wales against Queensland in the 1962–63 season. His highest score was 253 and his best bowling was 7/63, both against South Australia in the 1964–65 season.
