Walter Peterson (field Hockey)
Walter Ernest Peterson (born 7 November 1883) was an Ireland men's national field hockey team, Ireland men's field hockey international. He was a member of the Ireland team that played at the Field hockey at the 1908 Summer Olympics, 1908 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. Peterson was one of six brothers who played field hockey for Avoca Hockey Club, Avoca, Palmerstown and Ireland. His brother, Jack Peterson (field hockey), Jack Peterson, also played for Ireland at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Walter and Jack Peterson were also team mates at Monkstown Hockey Club, Monkstown. Peterson also won Irish Senior Cup (men's hockey), Irish Senior Cup titles with both Palmerstown and Monkstown. Stillorgan (, also ''Stigh Lorcáin'' and previously ''Tigh Lorcáin'' or ''Teach Lorcáin''), formerly a village in its own right, is now a suburban area of Dublin in Ireland. Umpire (field Hockey)
An umpire in field hockey is a person with the authority to make decisions on a hockey pitch in accordance with the rules of the game. Each match is controlled by two such umpires. In theory they are responsible for decisions taken on their respective half of the field, but practically they 'control' on either diagonal half of the field. In many higher-level events, a ''reserve umpire'' is appointed in addition to the two ''field umpires'' to act as a back-up in the event of injury or other issue preventing a field umpire from commencing or continuing a match. In World-Level competitions, a ''video umpire'' is also appointed in addition to the field and reserve umpires. The England men's national field hockey team competes in most major international tournaments except the Olympic Games. England's only appearance at the Olympics was at London 1908 when they won gold; since then English players have competed at the Olympics as part of the combined Great Britain national field hockey team. England's best finish in the Hockey World Cup was as runners-up to champions Australia in 1986, which was also held in London. The Wales men's national field hockey team represents Wales in men's international field hockey competitions. Wales participated once in the Summer Olympics, the first edition and they won the bronze medal. Since then they participate in the Olympics as a part of the Great Britain squad. William Graham (field Hockey)
William Evans Graham ' was an Ireland men's field hockey international. He was a member of the Ireland team that played at the 1908 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. Graham also won Irish Senior Cup titles with both Palmerstown and Monkstown. He later served as an Ireland selector before becoming president of the Irish Hockey Union during the 1933–34 season. He was club president at Monkstown from 1927 until 1936. Blackrock () is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland, northwest of Dún Laoghaire. Location and access Blackrock covers a large but not precisely defined area, rising from sea level on the coast to at White's Cross on the N11 national primary road.
