Walter Giffen
Walter Frank Giffen (20 September 1861 – 28 June 1949) was an Australian sportsman who played in three Test cricket matches between 1887 and 1892 and played in Australian rules football for Norwood Football Club in the South Australian Football Association. Early life and career The younger brother of leading Australian cricketer and Australian rules footballer George Giffen, Walter Giffen was born in Norwood, South Australia on 20 September 1861, to Richard Giffen, a carpenter and his wife Elizabeth (née Challand). Giffen played alongside his brother at Norwood Football Club, where he was a member of the 1879 Norwood premiership team, and firstly at Norwood Cricket Club before they moved to Adelaide Cricket Club ahead of the 1894/95 season. Norwood is a suburb of Adelaide, about east of the Adelaide city centre. The suburb is in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, whose predecessor was the oldest South Australian local government municipality. Birdwood is a town near Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the local government areas of the Adelaide Hills Council and the Mid Murray Council. Brad Young (cricketer)
Bradley Evan Young (born 23 February 1973) is an Australian former cricketer. A left-arm orthodox spinner who was also an aggressive lower order right hand batsman, Young played six One Day Internationals for Australia in the 1998/99 period. Young was selected for Australia at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, taking a hat trick against New Zealand and winning a silver medal after losing to South Africa in the final. Young's final match for Australia ended after he slid into the fence trying to prevent a boundary and needed to be carried from the Sydney Cricket Ground in considerable pain after injuring his leg.
