Walter Crook
Walter Crook (28 April 1913 – 27 December 1988) was an English football player and manager. Career Playing career Crook, who played as a full back, played in the Football League for Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, making a total of 264 appearances. He holds the record for most consecutive Football League appearances by a Blackburn player (208 between 1934 and 1946). Crook also made one wartime international appearance for England in 1939. Coaching career Crook managed Dutch side Ajax between 1948 and 1950, and again between 1953 and 1954. He also managed Sparta Rotterdam and English club sides Accrington Stanley and Wigan Athletic. Whittle-le-Woods
Whittle-le-Woods (commonly shortened to Whittle) is a village and civil parish of the Borough of Chorley in Lancashire, England. The population of the civil parish at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 census was 5,434. Whittle-le-Woods lies on the A6 road (Great Britain), A6, about three miles north of the town of Chorley, and to the south of the city of City of Preston, Lancashire, Preston. It is divided into two areas, the older part on the old coach road running through Waterhouse Green to Brindle, Lancashire, Brindle and the more modern part on the A6 road where the church of St John is situated. Het Vrije Volk
''Het Vrije Volk'' was a Dutch social-democratic daily newspaper. It was the successor, after World War II, of the socialist daily '' Het Volk''. The paper appeared legally 1 March 1945 in Eindhoven. From 28 January 1946, all subdivisions of the newspaper were united and a national edition was introduced. For a time, it was the biggest newspaper in the Netherlands and at its peak it had over 300 editors and reporters. After 1958, the number of subscribers decreased rapidly. The newspaper disappeared in 1970 as a national newspaper from Amsterdam, only regional editions remained and at the end of 1971 only Rotterdam was its home base. The last edition entitled ''Het Vrije Volk'' appeared on 30 March 1991 and it was merged with the ''Rotterdams Nieuwsblad'' into the ''Rotterdams Dagblad''.
