Walter Calderón
Walter Richard Calderón Carcelén, nicknamed ''Mamita'' (born October 17, 1977) is a retired Ecuadorian football player. Club career Calderón began his professional career at Quito-based club ESPOLI. In 2000, he made the move to Deportivo Cuenca. At the club, he became a regular starter. He was a key player in the club's 2004 national champion squad. He soon left the squad in 2006 and moved to El Nacional in 2007 and Deportivo Quito in 2008. With Deportivo Quito, he won his second national title. In 2009, he made the move to LDU Quito. Despite having irregular starting times, he became a clutch striker, providing goals at decisive times. He won another national title with Liga in 2010, the 2009 Copa Sudamericana, and two Recopa Sudamericana (2009, 2010). The 2010 Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol de la Serie A (known as the 2010 Copa Credife Serie A for sponsorship reasons) was the 52nd season of the Serie A, Ecuador's premier football league. It ran from February 7 to December 12. Emelec and LDU Quito each won the First and Second Stage, respectively, and played each other in the championship finals. LDU Quito won the first leg at home by a score of 2–0. Emelec could not overturn the deficit with a 1–0 win at home in the second leg. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, named as ''Copa Sudamericana'' (; pt, Copa Sul-Americana ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 2002. It is the second-most prestigious club competition in South American football. CONCACAF clubs were invited between 2004 and 2008. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana began in 2002, replacing the separate competitions Copa Merconorte and Copa Mercosur (that had replaced Copa CONMEBOL) by a single competition. The Liga Pro Betcris, simply known as the Liga Pro, or the Serie A, is a professional football league in Ecuador. At the top of the Ecuadorian football league system, it is the country's premier football competition. Contested by sixteen clubs, it operates a system of promotion and relegation with the Serie B, the lower level of the Primera Categoría. The season runs from February to December and is usually contested in multiple stages. The main sponsor is Betcris and it is known as Liga Pro Betcris. The 2010 Recopa Sudamericana de Clubes was a two-legged tie that determined the winner of the Recopa Sudamericana, an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana competitions.
