Walt Disney On The Front Lines
The third wave of Walt Disney Treasures was released on May 18, 2004. It was originally planned to be released in December 2003, but was delayed for almost half a year in order to meet an increased demand with a higher number of tins produced. This wave was the first to have a certificate of authenticity with the individual number of the tin on it, replacing the number embossed on the tin. This was the final wave released with side straps. ''Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume Two'' This set picks up from where ''Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume One'' leaves off. This was one of the few "Treasures" sets released abroad, as well as in the United States, on April 4, 2005. Like the first volume, it was retitled ''Mickey Mouse in Living Colour'' in the UK due to American and British English spelling differences. 175,000 sets produced. Walt Disney Treasures
Walt Disney Treasures is a series of two-disc DVD collections of Disney cartoons, television episodes and other material. They cover material from the studio's earliest days to its more recent work. There were nine waves, each containing two to four sets, for a total of 30 titles. All content is presented uncensored and uncut with digitally restored picture and remastered sound (except where noted on individual titles). The first wave was released to Region 1 DVD on December 4, 2001, as a part of Walt Disney's 100th birthday. They were sold in limited quantities. The numbered units are largely commercially unavailable. Only a handful of these titles have been sold outside Region 1. R'coon Dawg
''R'coon Dawg'' is a 1951 American animated short film produced by Walt Disney and directed by Charles August Nichols. It was the 123rd short in the '' Mickey Mouse'' film series to be released, and the only one produced that year. Even though this cartoon belongs to the Mickey Mouse series, and Mickey Mouse is shown in hunting gear, Pluto is the main character. Plot Mickey and Pluto are hunting a raccoon, who is quite clever and intends to make fun of his pursuers. ''Steamboat Willie'' is a 1928 American animated short film directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. It was produced in black and white by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios and was released by Pat Powers, under the name of Celebrity Productions. The cartoon is considered the debut of Mickey Mouse and his wife Minnie Mouse, Minnie, although both characters appeared several months earlier in a test screening of ''Plane Crazy''. Charlie McCarthy
Charlie McCarthy is Edgar Bergen's famed ventriloquist dummy partner. Charlie was part of Bergen's act as early as high school, and by 1930, was attired in his famous top hat, tuxedo, and monocle. The character was so well-known that his popularity exceeded that of his performer, Bergen. Charlie's personality was that of a mischievous little boy (with an Irish lilt), who could wisecrack, misbehave, and flirt shamelessly in a way that Bergen couldn't (in much the same way that the Muppet characters could behave more outrageously than any of their human co-stars). Bergen's original McCarthy dummy was built by noted carpenter/dummy-maker Theodore Mack, and was later rebuilt by Frank Marshall. Luana Patten (July 6, 1938 – May 1, 1996) was an American actress who appeared in films produced by Walt Disney Pictures, such as '' Song of the South'' (1946), ''Fun and Fancy Free'' (1947), and ''Melody Time'' (1948). ''Fun and Fancy Free'' is a 1947 American animated musical fantasy package film produced by Walt Disney and released on September 27, 1947 by RKO Radio Pictures. It is the ninth Disney animated feature film and the fourth of the package films that the studio produced in the 1940s to save money during World War II. Leopold Stokowski
Leopold Anthony Stokowski (18 April 1882 – 13 September 1977) was a British conductor. One of the leading conductors of the early and mid-20th century, he is best known for his long association with the Philadelphia Orchestra and his appearance in the Disney film ''Fantasia'' with that orchestra. He was especially noted for his free-hand conducting style that spurned the traditional baton and for obtaining a characteristically sumptuous sound from the orchestras he directed.
