Born in Wanganui, New Zealand, she lived most of her life in England and moved to Australia after her retirement. Pat Walshe
Patrick Walshe (July 26, 1900 – December 11, 1991) was an American dwarf character actor and circus performer who specialized in impersonating and portraying animals. He is best known for playing Nikko, the head of the Winged Monkeys in the MGM film '' The Wizard of Oz'' (1939). He appeared in only a few films, as most of his work was in theater, vaudeville and circus. Throughout his vaudeville career, he was a frequent collaborator of Lew Fields and Joe Cook. Nick Walshe
Nicholas Patrick James Walshe (born 1 November 1974 in Chiswick, London), is a rugby union coach and former player. He was capped twice for England, and was Head Coach of the England Under 20 taking them to successive victories in the 2013 and 2014 IRB Junior World Championship. Education Walshe was educated at Worth, an independent school in West Sussex. Playing career Walshe played at scrum-half. He moved from Saracens to Sale Sharks in 2002. Joseph Walshe
Joseph (Joe) Walshe (2 October 1886 – 6 February 1956) was an Irish civil servant and diplomat. As Secretary of the Department of External Affairs of the Irish Free State from 1923 to 1946, he was the department's most senior official. Early life and education Walshe was born in the largely agricultural and coal mining region of Killenaule, County Tipperary in 1886. In 1893 he joined the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) as a novice. Two years later he was sent by them to study in the Netherlands with exiled French members of the order. Walshe returned to Ireland where he studied at Mungret College, Co. Limerick, and began teaching at the prestigious Jesuit-run boarding school of Clongowes Wood. He left the order in 1916 due to illness, before studying for a general law degree at University College Dublin. He went on to obtain a master's degree in French. Jennifer Walshe (born 1 June 1974) is an Irish composer, vocalist and artist. Biography Jennifer Walshe was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1974. She studied composition with John Maxwell Geddes at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Kevin Volans in Dublin and graduated from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) with a doctoral degree in composition in June 2002. Her chief teachers at Northwestern were Amnon Wolman and Michael Pisaro. In 2003–04 Walshe was a fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart; during 2004–05 she lived in Berlin as a guest of the DAAD Berliner Künstlerprogramm. James Walshe
James Walshe was an Irish Catholic priest and bishop in Kildare and Leighlin; before becoming a bishop he was president of Carlow College, where he had previously been a professor. He was born 30 June 1803 in New Ross, County Wexford, to Philip Walshe, and his wife, Mary Walshe (née Doyle, a cousin of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, James Warren Doyle "JKL", and a lecturer at Carlow College). He was educated, at the commercial and classical school in New Ross, records show that he went to Dublin to study medicine, but he returned to Wexford and went to study at St Peter's College, Wexford from 1823 to 1826 when he went to St. Patrick s College, Carlow to complete his theological studies and where he was ordained priest in 1830. Sir Francis Martin Rouse Walshe, FRS (19 September 1885 – 21 February 1973) was a British neurologist. Career He was born in London and educated at Prior Park College, Bath from 1898 to 1901 and at University College School, London from 1901 to 1903. He then read medicine at University College Hospital, London from 1903 to 1910 and was awarded BSc in 1908 and MB in 1910. Dylan Walshe
Dylan Robert Walshe ( ga, Dylan Breathnach) is an Irish folk music singer-songwriter. Born and raised in southeast Dublin, he is based in Nashville, Tennessee. He has toured with Flogging Molly, Avatar, The White Buffalo, The Mahones and recorded with James Fearnley of The Pogues. Career Walshe first performed on stage at the age of 15 in a band which was formed with some school and neighbourhood friends. He played rhythm guitar and drums before moving onto performing as a solo singer-songwriter. After some years of performing at home in Ireland, Walshe lived out most of his 20s in London where he also spent some time in a band with R. Roswell of Spacemen 3. In 2013, Walshe released a limited edition 7" vinyl recording on the Berlin label Squoodge Records, R.
