Wallflower (Bob Dylan Song)
"Wallflower" is a song written and recorded in November 1971 by Bob Dylan. Dylan's own recording was not released until almost twenty years later as part of ''The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1991''. An alternate version from the same 1971 session was released in 2013 on '' The Bootleg Series Vol. 10: Another Self Portrait (1969–1971)''. In October 1972, the song was recorded by Doug Sahm, with Dylan singing backing vocal, for Sahm's album ''Doug Sahm and Band'', released in 1973. The song has since been covered by many artists. Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter. Often regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture during a career spanning more than 60 years. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" (1963) and " The Times They Are a-Changin' (1964) became anthems for the civil rights and antiwar movements. His lyrics during this period incorporated a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defying pop music conventions and appealing to the burgeoning counterculture. Hightone Records
HighTone Records was an American independent record label based in Oakland, California, United States. HighTone specialized in American roots music including, country, rockabilly, western swing, blues and gospel. The label was created by Larry Sloven and Bruce Bromberg in 1983. The label's first release that year was '' Bad Influence'' by bluesman Robert Cray. In 1984, the label released Frankie Lee's debut album, ''The Ladies and the Babies''. Some of the label's releases in the late 1980s featured Joe Louis Walker including ''Cold is the Night'' and ''The Gift.'' Between 1995 and 2000, the label issued three albums by James Armstrong (''Sleeping with a Stranger'', ''Dark Night'', and ''Got It Goin' On''). Domenico Monardo (born November 29, 1939), known as Meco, is an American record producer and musician, as well as the name of his band or production team. Meco is best known for his 1977 space disco version of the ''Star Wars'' theme from his album '' Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk''; both the single and album were certified platinum in the US. Early life and education Meco Monardo was born in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, United States, to parents of Italian descent. Building model ships, science fiction and movies were some of his boyhood preoccupations. The Bottle Rockets
The Bottle Rockets were an American rock band formed in Festus, Missouri in 1992, and was based in St. Louis, Missouri. Its founding members were Brian Henneman (guitar, vocals), Mark Ortmann (drums), Tom Parr (1992–2002, guitar, vocals) and Tom Ray (1992–1997, bass guitar); the most recent lineup consisted of Henneman, Ortmann, John Horton (joined 2003, guitar) and Keith Voegele (joined 2005, bass, vocals). ''Erysimum'', or wallflower, is a genus of flowering plants in the cabbage family, Brassicaceae. It includes more than 150 species, both popular garden plants and many wild forms. The genus ''Cheiranthus'' is sometimes included here in whole or in part. Uncle Earl is an American old-time music group, formed in 2000 by KC Groves and Jo Serrapere. Currently the lineup consists of four women, all of whom share vocal duties: KC Groves, Kristin Andreassen, Abigail Washburn, and Rayna Gellert. They have released three albums and two EPs, and their fifth album ''Waterloo, Tennessee'' was produced by John Paul Jones (musician), John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.
