Nick Leonardus van de Wall (; born 9 September 1987), better known as Afrojack, is a Dutch DJ, music producer and remixer from Spijkenisse, South Holland. In 2007, he founded the record label Wall Recordings; his debut album '' Forget the World'' was released in 2014. Afrojack regularly features as one of the ten best artists in the Top 100 DJs published by ''DJ Mag''. He is also the CEO of LDH Europe. Early life Van de Wall was born and raised in Spijkenisse, South Holland, to a Dutch mother and a Surinamese father. He developed an interest in music at an early age and learned to play the piano at the age of five. From a single-parent household, his mother Debbie owned a local gym. Spijkenisse
Spijkenisse () is a city in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. Following an administrative reform in 2015, it is part of the municipality of Nissewaard, and has a population of 72,500. It covers an area of of which is water. It is part of the Greater Rotterdam area. History Archaeological evidence suggests that the area around Spijkenisse has been inhabited for several thousand years. The area's prehistoric inhabitants depended on fishing in the Maas and hunting in the surrounding swamps for sustenance. Spijkenisse also has an anthem, the song is called "Spijkenisse" by Rik Hoogendoorn. The song was released in 2012 and is very popular amongst people who live in Spijkenisse. The oldest known reference to the name ''Spickenisse'' is in a source from 1231. Spijkenisse is a portmanteau of the words ' ( spit) and ''nesse'' (nose) meaning "pointy nose." Spinnin' Records is a Dutch electronic music record label founded in 1999 by Eelko van Kooten and Roger de Graaf. In September 2017, Warner Music Group acquired Spinnin' Records for over $100 million. Jewelz & Sparks are a German DJ and production duo consisting of Julius Voigtländer (born 1984) and Gregor Brechmann (born 1991) that formed in 2011, and they are one of the most successful German EDM projects. Major Lazer is an American electronic dance music DJ trio, which includes record producer Diplo, and DJs Walshy Fire and Ape Drums. It originates from Kingston, Jamaica, and was founded in 2008 by Diplo and Switch, with Switch leaving after three years in 2011. He was then replaced by both Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. Faisal Ben Said (born 20 September 1990), better known by his stage name Fais, stylized as FÄIS, is a Dutch singer-songwriter and pianist from Rotterdam. His debut single "Hey" featuring Afrojack was released on 8 April 2016 on Wall Recordings. Within the week of its release it peaked at #2 in the Dutch charts, has achieved 8× platinum worldwide and has been listed #5 song in 25 years of Radio 538.
