Walking Shapes
Walking Shapes is a five-piece rock band from New York City. Background The band formed in late 2012 by Nathaniel Hoho (lead vocals, guitar); Jesse Kotansky (guitar, violin, backup vocals); Dan Krysa (bass, backup vocals); Christopher Heinz (drummer); and Jake Generalli (Keyboardist). They released their first EP ''Mixtape Vol. 1'' through record label No Shame in July 2013. The quintet then took up residence at NYC clubs Pianos and Baby's All Right. On April 8, 2014, the band released their debut EP ''Taka Come On'', an album that was recorded in SoHo with producer Gus Oberg (The Strokes, Willie Nelson, and Ryan Adams). The band played 24 shows in 24 hours throughout New York City on April 24, 2014 to coincide with the official release of Taka Come On. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Chromeo is a Canadian electro-funk duo from Montreal, formed in 2002 by musicians David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel. The Temper Trap are an Australian indie rock band formed in 2005 by Dougy Mandagi, Jonathon Aherne, and Toby Dundas. In 2008, the group relocated from Melbourne to London. The band released their debut album '' Conditions'' in June 2009 to favourable reviews and commercial success; it peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and into the top 30 on the UK Albums Chart. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
