Walking Down Broadway is a 1938 American film drama made by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation and directed by Norman Foster. Plot A quintet of New York City chorus girls plan a reunion for the one-year anniversary of their show's closing. They discover the different paths their careers and lives have taken. Norman Foster (director)
Norman Foster (born Norman Foster Hoeffer, December 13, 1903 – July 7, 1976) was an American film director, screenwriter and actor. He directed many Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto films as well as projects for Orson Welles and Walt Disney. As an actor he was a leading man in early talkies and also appeared in Welles' final film ''The Other Side of the Wind''. Life and career Norman Foster was born Norman Foster Hoeffer on December 13, 1903, in Richmond, Indiana. He became a cub reporter on a local newspaper in Indiana before going to New York in the hopes of getting a better newspaper job but there were no vacancies. Dixie Dunbar
Christina Elizabeth "Dixie" Dunbar (January 19, 1919 – August 29, 1991) was an American singer, film actress, and dancer. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Dunbar grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She began studying dancing as a child and went on to sing and dance in nightclubs. In 1934, she was Ray Bolger's dancing partner in the revue ''Life Begins at 8:40'', which was staged in Boston. She also performed in that show on Broadway in 1934-35 and the Broadway productions of ''Yokel Boy'' (1939–40) and ''George White's Scandals'' (1934). Dunbar's film debut also came in ''George White's Scandals'' (1934). During the 1930s she appeared in a number of Twentieth Century Fox films, including two Jones Family films. After she left Broadway and films, she returned to nightclubs, performing for a while before she retired. Peter Paul Fix (March 13, 1901 – October 14, 1983) was an American film and television character actor who was best known for his work in Westerns. Fix appeared in more than 100 movies and dozens of television shows over a 56-year career between 1925 and 1981. Fix was best known for portraying Marshal Micah Torrance, opposite Chuck Connors's character in ''The Rifleman'' from 1958 to 1963. Bobbie Stoffregen (July 28, 1909 – March 19, 2000), known professionally as Jayne Regan, was an American film actress. Her original name was sometimes seen as Bobby Stoffregen. Regan was the daughter of Herman C. and Anna Stoffregen. From age 2 to 15, she studied dance, drama, and singing in addition to attending Mary Institute. In 1932, she graduated with an A. B. degree from Washington University in St. Louis, after which she acted in Western films for Reliable Pictures while attending drama school for two years. She was under contract to Twentieth Century Fox during the 1930s. On December 21, 1937, Regan married Jerry Gose, a production manager at Twentieth Century Fox. On June 21, 1951, the couple divorced in Hollywood.
