''Walk Through the Fire'' is the debut album by guitarist Mark Karan. It features several originals as well as covers and Karan is backed by many different musicians, including his band Jemimah Puddleduck and the Persuasions for some songs. It also includes a posthumous contribution from Delaney Bramlett. The album was released in stores on June 30, 2009, but some of it was available for streaming on Karan's website before then. Mark Karan
Mark Karan (born January 13, 1955) is an American guitarist and singer. He is best known for his long-term work with former members of the Grateful Dead, in RatDog (1998–2013), the Other Ones (1998–2000), Mickey Hart's band Planet Drum (1999), and Phil Lesh and Friends (2012). Karan has also played and toured with Terrapin Flyer, Delaney Bramlett, the Rembrandts, Sophie B. Hawkins, Dave Mason, and Paul Carrack. Karan leads the bands Jemimah Puddleduck and Mark Karan's Buds. In 2009 he released a solo album, ''Walk Through the Fire''. Career Karan has played guitar and sung for a number of different artists, including Dave Mason, Huey Lewis, Paul Carrack, Delaney Bramlett, Sophie B. Hawkins, and The Rembrandts. Bill Payne
William H. Payne (born March 12, 1949) is an American pianist who, with Lowell George, co-founded the American rock band Little Feat. He is considered by many other rock pianists, including Elton John, to be one of the finest American piano rock and blues musicians. In addition to his trademark barrelhouse blues piano, he is noted for his work on the Hammond B3 organ. Payne is an accomplished songwriter whose credits include "Oh, Atlanta". Following the death of Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward on August 12, 2010, Payne is the only member of the group from the original four-piece line-up currently playing in the band. Peter Rowan
Peter Rowan (born July 4, 1942) is an American bluegrass musician and composer. Rowan plays guitar and mandolin, yodels and sings. Biography Rowan was born in Wayland, Massachusetts to a musical family. From an early age, he had an interest in music and learned to play the guitar from his uncle. Influenced by the blues musician Eric Von Schmidt, Rowan traded his electric guitar for an acoustic and began to play the blues. He was also influenced by the folk sound of Joan Baez. Reginal Dennis Benjamin Moore (March 31, 1981 – June 12, 2023) was an American-born Angolan basketball player. A power forward, he graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2003. He played in Norway, United States Basketball League (USBL; under coach John Starks), Germany, and Portugal. In 2012, Moore was granted Angolan citizenship, thus being eligible to play for the Angolan national squad. The Persuasions are an American a cappella group that began singing together in Brooklyn, New York in the mid-1960s. The Persuasions were formed in Brooklyn in 1962, singing a cappella under corner streetlights and in subway corridors. Their style combined gospel, soul, early rock and jazz into melodic five-part harmonies. Since being discovered by Frank Zappa, The Persuasions have recorded 23 albums to date. Career The Persuasions appeared on such public affairs television shows as ''Inside Bedford-Stuyvesant'' on WNEW-TV and '' Like It Is'' on WABC-TV in 1968. Raymon Sanders (born October 1, 1935 in Saint Johns, Kentucky) is an American Country Music artist. Between 1960 and 1980, he charted fourteen times on the Hot Country Songs charts with singles released by Liberty, Imperial and United Artists labels. He also sang backing vocals for Ray Price. Background Sanders was originally a disc jockey in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and later a performer at the Lincoln Jamboree and Renfro Valley Barn Dance. He recorded a few rockabilly songs in 1957 under the name Curly Sanders before making his Grand Ole Opry debut in 1959.
