''Walk On'' is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Boston, released on June 7, 1994 by MCA Records. Erlewine, Stephen Thomas"Walk On - Boston" ''AllMusic''. Rovi Corporation. Boston is an American rock band formed by Tom Scholz in Boston, Massachusetts, that had its most commercial successes during the 1970s and '80s. Barry Goudreau
Barry Goudreau (born November 29, 1951) is an American musician. He was one of two original guitarists for the Rock music, rock band Boston (band), Boston alongside founder Tom Scholz; both Scholz and Goudreau shared lead and rhythm guitar parts. Before Boston Goudreau had developed a musical interest at an early age and got his first guitar, an Steel-string acoustic guitar, acoustic which he borrowed from a friend, at age 11. He began taking lessons and by age 13, joined his first band, the "Tornadoes". At age 15, he joined another band with future Boston bandmate drummer Sib Hashian. They would often play at nightclubs, sometimes seven times a week. Later, he met up with Brad Delp and Fran Sheehan, both future members of Boston. He auditioned for Delp's band, but did not make the cut. When he went to college at Boston University, he sought to get a degree in Geology. Clavinet
The Clavinet is an electrically amplified clavichord invented by Ernst Zacharias and manufactured by the Hohner company of Trossingen, West Germany, from 1964 to 1982. The instrument produces sounds by a rubber pad striking a point on a tensioned string, and was designed to resemble the Renaissance-era clavichord. Although originally intended for home use, the Clavinet became popular on stage, and could be used to create electric guitar sounds on a keyboard. It is strongly associated with Stevie Wonder, who used the instrument extensively, particularly on his 1972 hit "Superstition", and was regularly featured in rock, funk and reggae music throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Hybrid Ice is a rock band from Danville, Pennsylvania, most notable for its song "Magdelene" released on the album '' Hybrid Ice'' in 1982, which became a regional radio hit at the time. ''Hybrid Ice'' is the debut album from the Pennsylvania-based rock band Hybrid Ice, released in 1982. Although not released on a major label, the album reached No. 5 on regional album charts in the US. It contains the hit song "Magdelene," which received much radio play and was later covered in 1994 by Boston on their album '' Walk On''. In 1984, Boston had asked to record Magdelene for what would later become their ''Third Stage'' album, Hybrid Ice agreed to stop sales of their own album. But the song didn't make it to a Boston album until 1994. Six years later, in 2000, Hybrid Ice signed a deal with Escape Records of England, and re-released the album (with Magdelene) on compact disc.
