Walden Motorsport
Walden Motorsport is a specialist race car preparation outfit in Western Sydney owned by Brian Walden. History Running in Production Car and Improved Production Car events, it entered the 1997 ARDC AMSCAR series and Bathurst 1000 with an ex Terry Finnigan Holden Commodore (VP). In 2004, the team debuted in the main V8 Supercar series at round 6 with Brian's son Garth driving an ex Glenn Seton Racing Ford Falcon (AU) using a franchise leased from Romano Racing. At the end of 2004, Walden Motorsport concluded a deal to purchase the Romano Racing franchise, however V8 Supercars refused to sanction the sale. The team was awarded a licence in 2007 and appeared on the entry list for the 2008 season, but never appeared with the licence put up for sale. 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series
The 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series was an Australian racing series for V8 Supercars. It began on 21 March 2004 at the Adelaide Street Circuit and ended on 5 December at Eastern Creek Raceway after 13 rounds. It was the sixth running of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.The championship was contested as the Australian Touring Car Championship from 1960 to 1998, as the Shell Championship Series from 1999 to 2001 and as the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 2002 The series winner was also awarded the 45th Australian Touring Car Championship title by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport. 2004 Bathurst 1000
The 2004 Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 was a motor race for V8 Supercars, staged on 10 October 2004 at the Mount Panorama Circuit just outside Bathurst in New South Wales, Australia. It was Round 10 of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series. The event was the eighth Australia 1000, first held after the organisational split over the Bathurst 1000 that occurred in 1997. The race was staged four days after the 41st anniversary of the first Bathurst 500/1000 touring car endurance race which was held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in 1963. The 2004 event was the 47th race with a lineage back to the 1960 Armstrong 500 held at Phillip Island. Bathurst 12 Hour
The Bathurst 12 Hour, currently known as the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour for sponsorship reasons, is an annual endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia. The race was first held in 1991 for Series Production cars and moved to Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway in 1995 before being discontinued. The race was revived in 2007, again for production cars, before adding a new class for GT3 and other GT cars in 2011. This has led to unprecedented domestic and international exposure for the event. In all, eighteen races have taken place; seventeen at Mount Panorama and one at Eastern Creek Raceway (Sydney Motorsport Park). The Australian Production Car Championship is an Australian motor racing title for production cars, sanctioned by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS). The championship was first contested in 1987 and from 2008 to 2015 the title was awarded to the most successful driver in the annual Australian Manufacturers' Championship series which ran on the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships program. The Holden Commodore (VY) is an executive car that was produced by Holden from 2002 to 2004. It was the third iteration of the third generation of the Commodore. Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VY) and Holden Calais (VY); commercial versions were called the Holden One Tonner (VY), Holden Ute (VY), and Holden Crewman (VY). 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series
The 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series was the tenth V8 Supercar Championship Series and the twelfth series in which V8 Supercars contested the premier Australian touring car title. The championship began on 21 February at the Clipsal 500 on the streets of Adelaide and concluded on 7 December at Oran Park Raceway. It consisted of 14 rounds covering all states and the Northern Territory of Australia as well as rounds in New Zealand and Bahrain. Jamie Whincup secured the Drivers championship with two races in hand with victory in race 1 of the 2008 NRMA Motoring & Services Grand Finale. Romano Racing was an Australian motor racing team that competed in Australian V8 Supercar racing between 1995 and 2003. History Sports Cars Romano Racing had its roots in the 1980s when team principal Bap Romano raced in the Australian Sports Car Championship (ASCC). In 1981, Romano commissioned former McLaren Formula One mechanic and the owner of Kaditcha cars in Queensland Barry Lock to build him a Le Mans type Group A Sports Car to run in the ASCC. The car, known as the Kaditcha K583 was the first closed top Sports Car seen in Australia and incorporated full ground effects aerodynamics. Powered by a Cosworth DFV V8 engine, Romano finished in 6th place in the 1983 ASCC before going on to dominate the 1984 Championship. The Ford Falcon (AU) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1998 to 2002. It was the sixth generation Ford Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (AU)—the luxury-oriented model range. The AU series replaced the EL Falcon constructed on the new at the time EA169 platform, and was replaced by the updated BA series.
