Walaqa River
The Walaqa River is a tributary of the Blue Nile, is river in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Wegde is located to its north. Mida Woremo and Dera are to the south, while Kelala is to the northeast. Amhara Region
The Amhara Region ( am, አማራ ክልል, Åmara Kilil), officially the Amhara National Regional State (), is a regional state in northern Ethiopia and the homeland of the Amhara people. Its capital is Bahir Dar which is the seat of the Regional Government of Amhara. Wegde
Wegde ( Amharic: ወግዲ) is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Wollo Zone, Wegde is bordered on the south by the Walaqa River which separates it from the Oromia Region, on the west by the Abay River which separates it from the Misraq Gojjam Zone, on the north by Debre Sina, on the northeast by Legambo, and on the east by Kelala. The major town in Wegde is Mahdere Selam. Wegde lies on the lower portion of a spur running from Mount Amba Ferit southwest to the confluence of the Walaqa with the Abay; altitudes range from 500 meters above sea level to 2700 meters at the northeast point of the woreda. Mida Woremo
Mida Woremo ( Amharic: ሚዳ ወረሞ) is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Mida Woremo is bordered on the south by the Qechene River which separates it from Merhabiete, on the west by the Oromia Region, and on the north and east by the Debub Wollo Zone; the northern boundary is defined by the Walaqa River. The administrative center of this woreda is Meragna; other towns include Rema. This woreda was originally named Weremo Wajetuna Midarema, which is the name used in the 1994 national census; it was changed before the Ethiopian Agricultural Sample Survey in October 2001, which used the present name. , 1000 households in Rema receive electricity from solar generation, free of charge. Dera, Oromia (woreda)
Dera ( Oromo: ''Deeraa'') is a woreda in Oromia Region, Ethiopia. Part of the Kaba Shewa Zone, Dera is bordered on the south by the Jamma River which separates it from Hidabu Abote and Wara Jarso, on the west, north and east by the Amhara Region; the Abay River defines the western boundary, and its tributary the Walaqa River the northern. The administrative center of Dera is Gundo Meskel. Kelala ( Amharic: ከለላ) is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Wollo Zone, Kelala is bordered on the south by the Semien Shewa Zone, on the southwest by the Walaqa River which separates it from the Oromia Region, on the west by Wegde, on the north by Legambo, on the northeast by Legahida, and on the east by Jama.
