"Wake Up!" is a song by Japanese ska band Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra featuring rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was released as the 3rd part of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra's 25th anniversary project 'Band Collaboration Trilogy' on July 2, 2014. Single's B-side include a cover of Nat Adderley's "Work Song" and "I Want To Be A Star Which Twinkles Only For You" which was composed by band's keyboardist, Yuichi Oki. Music video The video features all members of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and Asian Kung-Fu Generation. They playing the song in a set that looks like ballroom and pose in different background with Masafumi Gotoh as a center. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra
, commonly abbreviated by fans as Skapara or TSPO, is a Japanese ska and jazz band formed in 1988 by the percussionist Asa-Chang, and initially composed of over 10 veterans of Tokyo's underground scene. At the time, the band's sound was unlike that of any of its contemporaries in the then fledgling Japanese ska scene, and over the course of the past 31 years, they have been influential on Japanese music as a whole. Its sound, the product of the musical influences of its members, is a mix of traditional ska, jazz, and rock. In the vein of many other more traditional ska acts, many of Skapara's songs are purely instrumental. Since its inception, the band has gone on several nationwide tours of Japan, and have toured worldwide. Nat Adderley
Nathaniel Carlyle Adderley (November 25, 1931 – January 2, 2000) was an American jazz trumpeter. He was the younger brother of saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, whom he supported and played with for many years. Adderley's composition "Work Song" (1960) is a jazz standard, and also became a success on the pop charts after singer Oscar Brown Jr. wrote lyrics for it. Early life Adderley was born in Tampa, Florida, but moved to Tallahassee when his parents were hired to teach at Florida A&M University. His father played trumpet professionally in his younger years, and he passed down his trumpet to Cannonball. When Cannonball picked up the alto saxophone, he passed the trumpet to Nat, who began playing in 1946. He and Cannonball played with Ray Charles in the early 1940s in Tallahassee and in amateur gigs around the area. Adderley attended Florida University, majoring in sociology with a minor in music.
