Wakanokuni Takeo (born 4 April 1936 as Teruo Ito) is a former sumo wrestler from Nannō, Gifu, Japan. He made his professional debut in March 1953 and reached the top division in November 1959. Shibatayama Stable
Shibatayama Stable (Japanese: 芝田山部屋, ''Shibatayama-beya'') is a stable of sumo wrestlers, one of the Nishonoseki group of stables. It was founded in 1999 by former ''yokozuna'' Ōnokuni. Located in Suginami, it is the only stable to be situated in the western half of Tokyo as of 2020. Mongolian born became the stable's first wrestler to earn promotion to the ''jūryō'' division, in March 2008, but he only lasted one tournament in the division and left sumo in acrimonious circumstances in 2010, claiming in a lawsuit that was eventually settled out of court that he had been forced to retire against his will. In February 2013 the stable absorbed its parent Hanaregoma stable due to the imminent retirement of its stablemaster, former '' ōzeki'' Kaiketsu. Hanakago Stable
, formerly known as Shibatayama stable from September 1952 to May 1953, was a stable of sumo wrestlers, one of the Nishonoseki ''ichimon'' or group of stables. Founded by former ''maegashira'' Ōnoumi Hisamitsu. It closed in 1985 with all wrestlers and personnel moving to Hanaregoma stable. History A previous incarnation of the stable existed from 1929 to 1947, run by former ''sekiwake'' Misugiiso. This version had produced a couple of ''sekitori'', the highest ranking of which being Tominoyama. Upon Ōnoumi's retirement in May 1952 he branched off from Nishonoseki stable and created his own Shibatayama stable taking with him along with others the future ''yokozuna'' Wakanohana Kanji I. Sumo
is a form of competitive full-contact wrestling where a ''rikishi'' (wrestler) attempts to force his opponent out of a circular ring (''dohyō'') or into touching the ground with any body part other than the soles of his feet (usually by throwing, shoving or pushing him down). This is a list of wrestlers who have won the sumo second division ''jūryō'' championship since 1909, when the current championship system was established. These official tournaments are held exclusively in Japan. The wrestler who has won the most ''jūryō'' championships is Masurao, with five.
