''Waited Up 'til It Was Light'' is the debut album by British band Johnny Foreigner and was released on UK independent label Best Before Records on 2 June 2008. The album was licensed to Nettwerk by Best Before and released through online retailers in North America on 22 July 2008, and in stores on 23 September 2008. It was recorded in Hoboken, New Jersey with producer Machine, whose previous credits include work with notable contemporary hard rock acts including Lamb of God, Clutch, and King Crimson. Johnny Foreigner are an indie rock four-piece from Birmingham, UK, consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Alexei Berrow, bassist and vocalist Kelly Parker (née Southern), drummer Junior Elvis Washington Laidley, and guitarist and visual artist Lewes Herriot. The band released six albums, beginning with a self-release in 2005 and their full-studio debut Waited Up 'til It Was Light in 2008. They were last active in 2016, releasing the record ''Mono No Aware'', touring it, and performing their final show at a Christmas gig in Leicester. Casiotone for the Painfully Alone (CFTPA) was the musical solo-project of musician Owen Ashworth (born April 22, 1977) of Redwood City, California. CFTPA was active from 1997 to 2010, and released five studio albums, alongside numerous other releases. CFTPA toured with other indie artists such as The Donkeys, Papercuts, P:ano, The Dead Science, David Bazan, The Rapture, and Xiu Xiu. Following the end of CFTPA, Ashworth began a new project, Advance Base. History Owen Ashworth started CFTPA after dropping out of film school in 1997. Lewes () is the county town of East Sussex, England.
