Waikato Aero Club
{{Short description, Aero Club The Waikato Aero Club (WAC) was founded in 1933 to provide pilot training and aerial services to the Waikato region of New Zealand. The club is based at Hamilton Airport near Rukuhia, on the outskirts of Hamilton. The club has New Zealand Qualifications Authority as an education services provider and runs a full-time ab initio to commercial pilot course of study for qualifying students. The Waikato Aero Club is affiliated with the Royal New Zealand Aero Club and actively participates in the annual flying skills competitions organised by the RNZAC national body. Waikato
Waikato () is a Regions of New Zealand, local government region of the upper North Island of New Zealand. It covers the Waikato District, Waipa District, Matamata-Piako District, South Waikato District and Hamilton, New Zealand, Hamilton City, as well as Hauraki Plains, Hauraki, Coromandel Peninsula, the northern King Country, much of the Taupō District, and parts of Rotorua, Rotorua District. Hamilton Airport (New Zealand)
Hamilton Airport is an airport located 14 kilometres south of the city of Hamilton in the Waikato region, in New Zealand. It is sited at Rukuhia, which was the name of the Royal New Zealand Air Force base on that site during World War II. Passenger numbers In the year to 30 June 2011 the airport had 316,000 domestic and 46,000 international passengers. Rukuhia
Rukuhia is a rural community in the Waipa District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located just south of the Hamilton suburb of Glenview, west of the Waikato District town of Tamahere and north of the Waipa towns of Ōhaupō and Te Awamutu, on State Highway 3. The area includes several farms on the flat between the Rukuhia Swamp and the Waikato River, and the Hamilton Airport industrial area. ''Rukuhia'' translates as ''gathered together, submerged or dived for''. The Rukuhia School First World War Memorial was unveiled in June 1923, on the sixth anniversary of the Battle of Messines. A commercial pilot licence (CPL) is a type of pilot licence that permits the holder to act as a pilot of an aircraft and be paid for their work. Different licenses are issued for the major aircraft categories: airplanes, airships, balloons, gliders, gyroplanes and helicopters. Alpha Aviation is an aircraft manufacturing company based in Hamilton, New Zealand. It manufactures the Alpha 2000 range of light aircraft. The company was formed by a group of entrepreneurs who have purchased the rights to Apex Aircraft's Alpha R2000 aircraft, originally manufactured by Avions Robin. The aircraft is now being marketed as the 120T and 160A variants by Alpha (as well as the 160Ai, a 160A with a fuel-injected engine.) The first aircraft manufactured (ZK-FXY) had its initial flight on 12 April 2006. The Alpha Aviation Alpha 2000 is a two-seat, all-metal training and general aviation aircraft, designed by Chris Heintz and built in Hamilton, New Zealand. It continues the successful French Apex Aircraft's Robin R2000 series acquired upon Apex's purchase of the Avions Robin company.
